With an exquisite ocean aspect and verdant garden views, the living room is an especially serene space for relaxing and gathering together. Embrace cosy moments from the 12-seater velvet sofa in shades of taupe paired with a matching footstool and recline as favourite playlists are played on the Sonos. On balmy days, sliding patio doors can be opened for a touch of indoor-outdoor living, while in cooler months, the ambient glow of the log effect electric fire entices atmospheric relaxation. For additional entertainment, a Smart TV with Sky can be found in the lounge, as well as an Xbox.

Eating and dining

In a beautiful open-plan design, the kitchen and dining area proposes slow mornings and candlelit evenings sharing feasts and conversation. Beautifully bespoke, the industrial style kitchen features handcrafted cabinetry and a complementing breakfast island with four Nkuku Loko mango wood stools. Pendant lights illuminate the setting, with reclaimed wood and handmade copper worktops offering plenty of space for keen chefs to craft culinary masterpieces. Making mornings a dream is a Melitta coffee machine, while a range of Miele, Novy and Quooker appliances and accoutrements for creating gourmet treats to cherish with your nearest and dearest.

Adjoining the kitchen, the open-plan dining room is home to a banquet-style table with bench seating and chairs. A Smart TV adorns the wall for background entertainment, while sliding patio doors reveal an ocean-view balcony with an outdoor bistro set. Gather together over leisurely brunches and sumptuous suppers inside, before unwinding on the balcony with a post-dinner aperitif as the sun glistens on the sea beyond.

Sleeping and bathing

Uncover five beautiful bedrooms, each home to a Smart TV and a dedicated ensuite with heated towel rails.

The master bedroom resides on the second floor in a beautiful penthouse position above St Ives Bay. At the centre, a super king Roche Bobois bed sits pretty overlooking sliding glass doors and a sea-view balcony. A glass desk provides space for creative contemplation, while a windowside armchair draws for ocean gazing over the treetops. This room is complete with an ensuite bathroom, where turquoise tiles and organic inflections frame a walk-in shower and a freestanding bathtub for bubble-topped soaks.

The second bedroom can be found on the ground floor. Step inside to uncover a tranquil oasis of quietude where wood panelling and soft hues create a soothing sanctuary for slumbers. Embraced by the finest quality linens, a king size bed overlooks the sea and encourages luxurious lie-ins watching the ever-changing horizon. This bedroom enjoys its own bathroom with patinated tiles and a spacious walk-in shower.

The third and fourth bedrooms are also located on the ground floor and both promise cosy king size beds draped in the softest linens. Exuding calm, each beckons with peaceful vistas across the garden, while the third bedroom features a sliding patio door for mornings caressed with a warm sea breeze. Both bedrooms benefit from ensuite bathrooms with walk-in showers for utmost privacy and comfort.

Perfect for children or friends, the fifth bedroom is home to a super king bed that can be transformed into two singles upon requirement. Creating an ideal hideout in which to escape, it has a Smart TV accompanied by an Xbox, along with a desk and chair for moments of mindfulness. This bedroom also has a beautiful ensuite with a walk-in shower adorned in ocean-hued tiles.

An additional bathroom can be found on the first floor between the kitchen and living room.

Outdoor space

With its mesmeric ocean views encouraging halcyon hours by the shore, Calluna's spectacular location is only rivalled by its heavenly outdoor spaces. A dream for outdoor living, it features a plethora of bi-fold doors that open onto glass-fronted balconies, patios, and lawned gardens.

Extending living spaces and tempting for alfresco banquets under open skies are two separate dining areas accessed from the first floor. Perfect for family gatherings, a dining table with eight chairs resides in the east, made for brunches of local delights and grilled repasts on the gas barbecue. A bistro set for six can also be found on the west-facing patio and calls for heaven-sent suppers and soirees in a golden hour reverie.

Heading to the top floor, a sumptuous outdoor sofa awaits, gathered around a glass-topped table with a gas fire. Revealing bewitching bay views by day, this is also the most magical spot for stargazing beneath the cosmos.

Parking

Private parking for up to four cars is available at Calluna. There is also an EV charging point for electric vehicles.

Babies and children

Children and one babe-in-arms are very welcome at Calluna. A cot, high chair, and additional equipment can be provided upon request.

In the Area

Residing in a halcyon idyll only half a mile from the sea, Calluna offers the most idyllic homestay in which to flee the everyday and pursue wanderlust-filled forays. For adventures on the doorstep, the South West Coast Path leads to the shores of Carbis Bay in one direction and Porthminster in St Ives in the other. Head to Carbis Bay for beach bathing in summer and oceanside strolls in winter and bask in the otherworldly landscapes. For rapture and repasts, the Michelin recommended Ugly Butterfly by Adam Handling and the Mediterranean-style Beach Club Restaurant are nestled above the beach and promise seasonal menus of finely curated specials. For the adventurers, an array of watersports can be enjoyed from Carbis Bay's shores too, such as paddleboarding, snorkelling and kayaking.

At the gateway to St Ives, the renowned Porthminster Beach Café awaits within a characterful 1930s beach house and tempts with an award-winning seafood selection. Elsewhere in St Ives, cobbled streets wind along rows of fishermen's cottages, boutiques and bars, ready for hours of laidback exploration. Visit some of the local galleries and wander the famous Tate St Ives, before finding a spot on the harbourside to watch the activity of tide and time. Seek authentic tapas at Ardor, sip creative cocktails at Firehouse, and sample freshly made slices at Onzo Pizzeria. For cultural immersion, St Michael's Mount, Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Gardens are must-visit treasures nearby.
