Perfectly positioned to enjoy the seaside hubbub of St Ives, whilst basking in the quietude of its elevated position with views of St Ives and Carbis Bay, you will find Pelagos, a contemporary dream, with a sleek spiral staircase inspired by the Barbara Hepworth 'Pelagos' sculpture, which was influenced by the same mesmerising views as our spellbinding retreat. Pelagos, which is Greek for 'high seas', offers breath-taking ocean vistas which promise to soothe the soul for up to twelve guests; with six blissful bedrooms, a dream-like outdoor bathtub and three floors of exceptional interiors. Step out of the private access to the coastal path for the short stroll into St Ives, where some of the most beautiful beaches in the county await, with the Tate art gallery perched proudly above Porthmeor Beach. Enjoy a host of excellent eateries, from laid-back lunches at The Hub Box to seafood suppers at the Michelin Red Guide Recommended Porthminster Beach Café. Uncover the beauty of west Cornwall, just a short journey by car, with the enchanting St Michael's Mount, captivating Tremenhere Sculpture Gardens and pretty fishing villages of Newlyn and Mousehole all well worth a visit.

Living, eating and dining

Step down into the open plan living, eating and dining space, a spacious hub for gathering with loved ones, promising the most glorious backdrop of St Ives Bay. Let the soft summer breeze caress your sun-kissed skin as you open the bi-fold doors onto the impressive balcony, which stretches across the vast expanse of open plan living space.

At the far side of the room, you will find the calming lounge, with an acoustic, oak-slatted feature wall and ceiling. You'll find an 85" Samsung Smart TV, complete with Sky, Sky Sports and a Samsung Soundbar, where evenings indoors are unmatched at Pelagos. Sink into the Bo Concept corner sofa in shades of teal, with a complementing foot stool and comfortable cushions to ensure total relaxation as you unwind after days spent exploring the Cornish coastline. Sipping a glass of crisp white, let your holiday playlist fill the room as you press play on the portable Sonos Move speaker. Set before the grand bi-fold doors, a relaxed seating area promises the perfect setting for pre and post dinner drinks, with a collection of vintage-inspired and boucle armchairs from Soho Home.

For all your entertainment needs, there's a separate dedicated gaming room, complete with a snug sofa, a LG 65" OLED Smart TV, Sonos Soundbar, PlayStation 4, and Sky Sports.

Whether you have a culinary genius in your party, or have hired an in-house chef, create flavoursome masterpieces in the ultra-modern imported Danish kitchen, with a beautiful skylight set above the central island. Find all the mod-cons you could possibly need, with the addition of a dedicated tea and coffee point with a Nespresso coffee machine and a Quooker hot tap for instantaneous morning teas. A built-in larder fridge and freezer ensure that there's plenty of space for storing indulgent holiday treats. You will also find an induction oven and hob, plus a dishwasher.

A grand Skovby dining table is positioned in the centre of the room, with original Hans Wegner chairs to seat twelve. Enjoy magical mealtimes with the backdrop of the ocean as you create everlasting memories with your nearest and dearest.

On the lower ground floor, you will find a utility room with a Bosch washing machine and condenser tumble drier.

Pelagos is appropriate for those with some limited mobility, but please note that there are two shallow steps between the ground floor bedroom and the living area. There is a handrail to hold with this slight level change and an additional handle in the bathroom for stability while showering

Sleeping and bathing

There are six delightful bedrooms at Pelagos, which are split over the ground, lower level and first floors. Each bedroom has a 50" Samsung Smart TV, ideal for catching up on the outside world as you enjoy leisurely mornings beneath the cloud soft covers.

On the first floor, you will find the two master bedrooms. The first bedroom is an oasis of calm, with a sumptuous king size bed, soft blue headboard and a geometric timber panelled feature wall. A double open wardrobe, carefully hidden behind the wall-mounted television, offers plenty of space for storing your belongings. Step out onto the balcony to uncover the pièce de résistance, a heavenly outdoor Victoria and Albert slipper bathtub, from which you can admire the beautiful seascape. There's also a stylish ensuite shower room with a skylight and a Hans Grohe rainfall shower, backed with rich onyx marble tiles in shades of grey and copper.

You'll find an impressive king size bed in the second bedroom, with a Scandi oak headboard and an oak-cladded feature wall. Plush cushions and throws offer an added touch of luxury to your moments of rest, whilst a perfectly placed double wardrobe with hanging and shelf space ensures that your garments are stored out of sight. Balmy mornings on the balcony are simply a dream, with two deck chairs and foot stools positioned for you to relish the cerulean vistas. Tucked in the corner of the bedroom, you will find the sleek ensuite, complete with a Hans Grohe shower and deep Lusso Stone slipper bath, just made for long bubble-topped soaks gazing up into the treetops.

Bedroom three is positioned on the ground floor, with a king size bed dressed in luxurious linens and throws, plus a star-gazing skylight with remote controlled blackout blind and a door which leads to a balcony with seating and to the garden. This bedroom is perfect for guests with limited mobility, with a maximum of two steps to access the main living space and outside of the retreat. A gorgeous rattan headboard and sweet rustic bedside tables beautifully complement the thalassic theme, with eye catching pendant lights in shades of blue, plus deep turquoise and textured white brick feature walls bringing coastal calm to the bedroom space. There's also plenty of space for storing your belongings in the wardrobe. A sweet ensuite shower room provides the perfect setting for refreshing wake-me-up moments, with the addition of a skylight above the shower.

Spiraling down the pearly white staircase, a fourth king size bed can be found, with a textured feature wall, Scandi oak headboard and sumptuous cushions and throws in shades of cream and blue. Next to the wardrobe, you will find a lovely dressing table, which can also be used as a study table should you need to catch up on an email or two. Step outdoors onto the beautiful balcony, with a darling bistro table to sit and admire the view at any time of the day. You'll also find a large walk-in shower within the ensuite shower room, featuring chic grey tiling.

The fifth bedroom is also situated on this level, with a zip and link bed, which can be set as a king or two 75cm singles for little ones. Open the bi-fold doors to uncover the blissful balcony, where a bistro table and chairs awaits for moments in the sun. Store your treasures in the wardrobe, which is positioned besides the ensuite shower room, with quirky blue tiles.

Bedroom six is oh-so-soothing in shades of blue, with a zip-and-link super king size bed which can also be set as two singles for flexible sleeping arrangements. There's a large wardrobe for storing your belongings, plus a dressing table and reading chair for moments of calm. Retreat to the balcony, where two sun loungers promise a haven for sun seekers. A large shower with teal parquet tiling can be found in the ensuite, with a rainfall shower head for wake-me-up mornings.

In each bathroom, you will find a luxe Crosswater illuminated mirror with dimmable lights and a demister, plus a heated towel rail to ensure towels are kept fluffy and warm. On the lower level, you will find an additional shower room, which is perfect for washing away sand post-beach days. There is also a toilet in the ground floor cloakroom.

Please note that a concrete staircase leads down to the lower level bedrooms, so kindly ensure that little ones are not left unattended near the stairs.

Outdoor Space

Pelagos is just made for outdoor living, with bi-fold doors which open onto spacious balconies on all three floors, each benefiting from the most glorious ocean vistas. Enjoy freshly brewed morning coffees on the balcony from the charming bistro tables, with the addition of two sun loungers set before the sixth bedroom for sun-kissed summer moments.

From the ground floor balcony, paved steps lead the way to a verdant paradise. Tucked away to the side of Pelagos, you'll find an outdoor dining deck with a table which seats twelve, perfectly positioned to promise shaded alfresco dining moments during the day and evening sun from the west as you gaze out to sea from across the lawn. A set of steps lead down to two luscious lawns, a blissful spot to enjoy outdoor games and savour sun-soaked picnics. There's also an outdoor shower, perfect for washing sandy toes and paws after days spent exploring sandy shores.

The Longest Beaches in Cornwall

Cornwall is home to many beautiful beaches: the golden frontiers between land and sea. But which are the longest beaches in Cornwall, and where can you find them?

Combine the luxuries of a good hotel with the suit-yourself dynamic of self-catering.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Pelagos:

The retreat was stunning and immaculate. Excellent location and first class facilities. Would return in a heartbeat.

We had a brilliant stay at Pelegos, having stayed in the Carbis Bay and St Ives area many times before this was a great choice for our latest visit and was a perfect location. We love to have views of the sea and this property certainly has a special position and outlook. As holiday let owners ourselves we know the effort that goes into achieving a well thought design and luxury decor consistent across what is a large house. This has been very successfully achieved and we would not hesitate to book this stunning property again.

Watch dolphins and seals fish for pilchards in Carbis Bay from the comfort of your bed, gather friends and family round the table for a convivial feast or grab you body board and stroll down to the surf - this is a wonderful spot for a multigenerational holiday. Plenty of space for adults and kids and a great location at the fringe of town for easy parking and access to the boutiques, cafes, galleries and eateries of St Ives.

An amazing property in a brilliant location for St Ives. Perfect for a relaxing break.

Beautiful house, stunning views.

Extremely comfortable with stunning views. Fabulous for a large family with more than adequate space.

Pelagos St Ives exceeded our expectations! Magical stay, what lovely space and beautiful views.

Beautiful house with fabulous views. Very comfortable living areas. We had a wonderful holiday.

I absolutely LOVED the property and the location. It's even better than in the pictures on the site. The kitchen is a dream as it has absolutely everything one needs, the beach is 7 min down the path and there's a super cool beach restaurant on the beach. I'm definitely coming back! Will be recommending to all of my friends.
