Nestled on the cliffs of Whitsand Bay with glorious sea views, this beautiful, dog friendly retreat for couples is what romantic seaside living is all about. Cabin on the Cliff is a love song to the sea - from the luxurious interiors which beautifully complement the colours of the ocean, to the healing qualities of water with both a hot tub and bathtub.

Cabin on the Cliff is perfectly positioned to explore the pretty south Cornish coast, from the wonderful Rame Head Heritage Coast to Fowey and beyond, whilst inland you're not far from the lush Tamar Valley and the wilds of Bodmin Moor.

The Cabin

Lovingly designed and hand built by its owners, this recently finished eco-cabin considers every detail. We just love the natural wood kitchen and feature wall in the bedroom which uses reclaimed timber from the former chalet on the site. The double-sided wood burning stove, sumptuous sofa and polished concrete floors and décor offer a clean contemporary finish.

The thoughtful owners have also provided raincoats, wellies and beach towels - so you're covered whatever the weather! In addition, there are two e-Bikes available to hire from the owner for use during your stay, allowing you to easily explore the villages of Portwrinkle, Seaton, Cremyll, Cawsand and Kingsand. As Cabin on the Cliff is in such a wonderful location, it is a 60-100m walk down a footpath from parking to the cabin and is not recommended for those with mobility limitations.

Living and eating

The open plan living, kitchen and dining area is just lovely. The far wall is home to the kitchen, with everything you need hidden behind upcycled wood cupboards and a polished concrete worktop. Compact yet housing everything you'll need to create meals for your beloved, you'll find a Smeg two ring induction hob and oven, slimline dishwasher, fridge with freezer, microwave and the all-important Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother as well as all the other equipment you'll need. In addition, there's a washer/dryer kept in the shed.

To the front, making the most of the glorious views, lies a bijoux table and chairs for meals, whilst nestled to the front, with majestic sea views from the full height sliding glass doors, is a beautiful teal velvet sofa (just perfect for cuddles), wood burning stove and Smart TV for those special evenings in.

Sleeping

Just wow! We don't think you'll find anywhere more romantic than this oh-so-dreamy bedroom. With a super comfy European king size bed, a view of the wood burner and a jaw-droppingly gorgeous bathtub for two combined with the epic scenery, you'll never want to leave. During warmer months, open the glass doors to let the salty breeze waft in whilst you enjoy breakfast in bed, whilst at night star gaze from a bath full of bubbles, glass in hand. Equally beautiful in winter, gaze at awe at stormy seas whilst blissfully cosy from the heat of the flickering flames - truly a getaway you'll never forget.

Bathing

There's a separate shower room with walk in shower with large rain fall head, and of course you've got the exquisite bathtub for long, luxurious soaks in the bedroom. There's a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy. Luxurious bath robes and slippers are provided.

Outdoor space

With a blissful terrace overlooking the dreamy coastline, you'll not want to leave this enchanted terrace on three levels. With the view changing consistently throughout the day from morning to night, you will never bore of the view, whether it's the pink glow of dawn, fiery red sunsets or the blanket of stairs glittering on the sea. To make sure you're as comfortable as can be, on level one you'll find the sun loungers, dining table and chairs and barbeque - perfect for alfresco dining. On level two, you'll find the outdoor sofa (which expands into a day bed) for total relaxation. Take the stairs to the third level and you'll find the hot tub in all its bubbling glory - ready and waiting for you to immerse yourself.

The exterior of this eco-cabin is as carefully considered as the interior. The sedum green roof, blackened cladding, copper details and bespoke entry gate make Cabin on the Cliff as visually captivating as the nature that surrounds it.

Parking

There is public parking provided 1- 3 minutes' walk away. A parking permit (found in the cabin) is available for your use.

Accessibility

In the Area

There's plenty of things to see and do in this hidden corner of Cornwall. Boasting fantastic, unspoilt beaches, Whitsand Bay and Freathy in particular are often overlooked and not so well known by visitors, so is it a perfect, peaceful spot. For places to eat, visit The Clifftop Café, a short walk from Cabin on the Cliff, promising beautiful views and delicious light lunches and sweet treats. Pop in the car (or get a taxi) to The Carew Arms in Antony village - a gastro pub with a café and farm shop, or The Devonport Inn in Kingsand. The Finnygook Inn is well worth a visit for a Sunday lunch with all the trimmings. Take the passenger ferry at Cremyll to Royal William Yard where you'll find lots of restaurants and shops. Take time out to explore the nearby seaside villages of Kingsand, Cawsand, Looe and Polperro. Of course, the South West Coastal Path is on your doorstep too so is perfect for walking.

A great trip even with UK weather warnings lol

A bijoux retreat but perfectly formed.

We had the most incredible stay in Cabin on the Cliff. To wake up to the sound of the sea every day was heaven, and only a shortish walk to the most beautiful beach.

The cabin is very well equipped with everything you could need. Beautiful interiors with expensive fixtures and fittings, and shower pressure and bath of dreams.

We would return in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed a magical weekend at Cabin on the Cliff. The cleanliness, attention to detail, romantic bathtub, cosy wood burner and secluded hot tub were all second to none. We especially loved the views from the bed each morning, from watching colourful clouds dance across the skies to witnessing storms pass by in the distance. We left feeling totally relaxed and recharged. The perfect getaway, whatever the season.

The cabin was amazing. The attention to detail in the way it was decorated and presented was excellent. Very secluded, cosy cabin with great views overlooking the sea. Would highly recommend.

Great escape to give yourself a wonderful retreat! We enjoyed our stay at the Cabin on the Cliff!

The cabin on the cliff was perfect in every way. The most relaxed holiday my husband and I have ever enjoyed together. The most beautiful unspoilt beach to enjoy when the tide is out too. Thank you x

Absolutely amazing cabin. Well designed with every inch well thought out and everything you could possibly need supplied. Location to die for and the hot tub is a huge bonus. If you don’t get the weather the cosy log fire is incredible. You can’t fail to enjoy.

Cabin is really nicely furnished, felt luxurious and modern with lots of lovely little touches. Everything we needed during our stay was in the cupboards somewhere. Check in guide was really detailed and made everything straightforward. Hot tub, BBQ and sun beds on the decking, set up was ideal and of course the views from the cabin were idyllic.

A great stay, stunning view and a lovely welcoming package. I would book again!

It’s a dreamy cabin and the views are absolutely stunning.

This is an amazing cabin in a relaxing and isolated area of natural beauty. We spent our honeymoon here and the cabin exceeded all expectations, the attention to detail in the design along with the amazing views were unmatched. Just book it!

Spectacular views and location, and the cabin is truly a cosy and luxurious treat. Not inexpensive, but worth it and we’d definitely visit again.

Stunning views, this little cabin has everything you need for a beautiful relaxing weekend. The owner is lovely and attends to your needs quickly. Not for the faint hearted as this is a "Cliff cabin", bring a good pair of walking shoes/boots to enjoy the cliff walks. This is located approximately 200 ft up the side of the Cornish cliffs, if you walk down the cliff path there is a vast stretch of beach with waterfalls from the rocks, be aware though as the tide does come right the way into the rocks at high tide.

Idyllic retreat

Fabulous location, very comfortable and the use of ebikes was a great addition. The log burner was beautiful especially as it was in the lounge and bedroom. The champagne and cream tea waiting for us was a lovely surprise

The cabin is beautifully decorated and was immaculately clean upon arrival. The kitchen was one of the best equipped kitchen I have ever visited for a stay. The cabin was cosy and the views were incredible. Quinn was very friendly and helpful and the extra touches made the stay all the more special. Check is was easy and clear.

Absolutely stunning location, the perfect little hideaway for couples to spend a week away. Would 100% Recommend it!

Truly a little luxury cabin. Amazing setting. The view is absolutely stunning! The little touches within the cabin from olive oil and soaps being there. To slippers and robes very very nice. Also the welcome pack was lovely.

It was a beautiful tranquil place.

To sum up…not to be missed! Book now to avoid missing out on this fabulous location. 10/10 / 5 stars

Perfect escape.

This is a magical location for a romantic stay, it’s beautifully decorated to a high standard, it’s pure luxury and exceeded all our expectations!

Perfect location and stunning immaculate Cabin to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. The owner Quinn facilitated picking up flowers which I had ordered through a local florist. The Cabin had everything you needed and a lovely touch with the bottle of Cava left for us along with a cream tea! Just perfect - thank you Quinn and Boutique Retreats.

Absolutely beautiful cabin & stunning location

Beautiful location with exceptional views. Felt like we had disappeared into our own private bubble. Highly recommended this cabin for anybody looking to get away and recharge their batteries.

Amazing place to hunker down in the winter with the wood burner and hot tub.

A little piece of heaven and we can't wait to return.

Really well thought out luxury with stunning views.

A wonderful retreat from the real world for a few days!

Had the most amazing honeymoon, such a beautiful cabin in a stunning location!

We had an absolutely amazing break away. The views were superb and the surrounding areas beautiful. The cabin itself was cosy, clean, well equipped and romantic. We would highly recommend Cabin on the cliff.

View from cabin and outside decking area was magnificent.

Amazing, stunning location and had the best time celebrating our honeymoon. The cabin was immaculate and we felt at ease immediately given COVID. Quinn (the owner) was a very helpful and responsive host. The only thing we didn’t realise was how remote it was, however shops are in driving distance. September 2921 - Mr & Mrs Hammond
