In the Area
Set close to the beach in Widemouth Bay, you're just a short walk from the wide, sandy beach lined with rock pools, just waiting to be explored. A firm favourite with surfers, it's a great beach for both beginners and experienced alike, and there's some great surf schools should you need some lessons. The southern end of the beach (near Black Rock) is dog friendly all year, whilst the South West Coastal Path, which runs just next to the beach, is a fabulous route for walks - the path to Bude being especially good for children and dogs. You're also within walking distance of a great pub too - the Bay View inn - whilst there's cafes galore to sample. Pop in the car and head further afield to discover Boscastle, Tintagel, Trebarwith Strand, Port Isaac and Padstow, whilst head east to Bude and across the border into Devon. Head inland for a change of scenery and you're not far from wild and beautiful Dartmoor and the market towns of Tavistock and Okehampton.
