Step inside to find a modern wood burning stove, plus two roll top baths for bubble topped moments, one in the master bedroom and one on the terrace for alfresco nights under the stars, which is available from May to September.
Embrace the beauty of Dartmoor in every season at Estochia, with a plethora of wonderful walks right on your doorstep, including Bellever Tor, the River Dart and the Venford Reservoir. From your doorstep, walk to Bench Tor and enjoy 360-degree views across the moors; a magical spot to watch the sunset. The bustling historic town of Ashburton is only ten minutes away, with an array of antique shops, restaurants, bars and cafes - perfect for those seeking dreamy dining experiences. Ashburton is also home to a fantastic heated outdoor swimming pool, which is open from May to September for balmy alfresco dips. The picturesque villages of Buckland-in-the-Moor and Widecombe-in-the-Moor are also well worth visiting, both painting pictures of a picturesque Dartmoor scene. Living
Step into the snug living space, where country cottage charm blends beautifully with modern and vibrant finishing touches to create a warm and inviting environment. Curl up on the canary yellow sofa, bedecked with flamboyant embroidered cushions. Settle beside the beautifully modern wood burner, with an eye-catching flue in shades of copper, catch up on your favourite box sets and must-see films on the Smart TV, and while away cosy cottage moments after days spent exploring the moors. The quirky feathered lamps and unique art pieces are playfully subtle additions to this wonderfully vivid room.
Estochia has a house wide sound system to soundtrack your holiday playlist from room to room.
Next to the master bedroom, you'll find a calming corner with two vintage peacock accent chairs, a spectacular matching feathered lamp and complementary eclectic mirror perfectly placed above. Sit and sip freshly brewed coffee and invite the soft breeze through the patio doors on a still summer's morning, admiring the breath-taking vistas across the rolling countryside.
Eating
The spacious eat-in kitchen is a beautifully curated space for creating culinary delights, with soothing grey units and stunning gold accents. Prepare indulgent meals a deux in the fully equipped kitchen, with an oven, hob and fridge/freezer. There's also a cafetiere for wake-me-up moments of the freshly brewed variety, plus a dishwasher and a washer/dryer.
A unique glass-topped table with two stylish leather bucket chairs sits at the other side of the kitchen, with large floor to ceiling windows to let light stream in, accentuating the resplendent finishing touches.
Sleeping and bathing
The charming bedroom is a romantic retreat from reality, with inviting charcoal tones and an eye-catching wooden feature wall. A sumptuous king-sized bed takes centre stage, adorned in cloud-like linens, velvety cushions, and soft throws. Before the bed, you'll find a striking jet black rolltop bathtub, set within a cute alcove backed with the most gorgeous illusional tiles. Above the tub sits a beautiful vintage feature piece, a grand octagonal mirror balancing the modern and rustic style of this space. You will also find a TV and an eclectic dresser for storing your belongings.
The shower room adjoins the master bedroom, with sleek white tiles, a large walk-in rainfall shower, a gorgeous geometric vanity and matte black sink. There's also a heated towel rail to keep towels fluffy and warm.
Outdoor space
Outside, you'll find a dreamy space to forget the world for a while where a teak dining table and chairs rest beside majestic views across Dartmoor - the perfect spot for alfresco meals on balmy sun-kissed days. Uncover the pièce de résistance of this heavenly hideout, a magnificent copper rolltop bathtub for otherworldly soaks alfresco. Watch the skies turn from day to dusk as you relax within the warm embrace of the bubble-filled tub - this one's for the lovers of romantic escapism.

Setting
Please note that Estochia is set within a working farm meaning livestock are roaming freely nearby.
There is a small dog-proof paddock, accessed by a gate in the front garden, which can be used for exercising dogs off-lead, providing that no livestock are grazing in it. Please kindly keep dogs on leads in all other areas. We ask that you kindly close the gate when arriving and departing the retreat. Thank you for your understanding.
Parking
There is parking for one car at Estochia.
Babies and children
Babies and children are most welcome at Estochia. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
Dogs
Estochia welcomes up to one well-behaved dog, upon request. Please kindly contact our Sales Team if you wish to enquire about bringing along your four-legged friend.
In the Area
From Estochia, you'll find a plethora of wonderful walks right on your doorstep. Explore Bench Tor, with 360-degree panoramic views across Dartmoor, promising magical sunsets and dark skies for stargazing. The waters of Venford Resevoir are a hidden jewel perfect for fishing, or alternatively seek out gorgeous riverside picnic spots on a hike to Dartmeet or Bellever Tor, where breath-taking vistas await you at the summit. Meander along the River Dart with a guided canoeing trip with Winding River Canoe, stopping off for a spot of wild swimming along your journey. A leisurely twenty minute walk will find you at the warm and welcoming Church House Inn, a characterful country pub. For explorers, the two AA rosette awarded restaurant, the Two Bridges Hotel, is just a short drive away, whilst The Warren House is the perfect lunch stop for hikers, boasting expansive views and a fire that's been continuously flickering for over 100 years.
The historical town of Ashburton is only a ten-minute drive away and is a haven for foodies and antique lovers. There's something to do morning, noon and night, with over ten antique shops for exploration, independent galleries and an arts centre, said to be one of the best small live music venues in the UK. You'll find award-winning restaurants, such as the Michelin Guide recommended The Old Library, and Emilia's Italian and wine bar, with a Bib Gourmand, plus delightful tea rooms, such as Taylor's, with homemade cakes and some of the best scones in the county. Buckfast is only fifteen minutes away, with Buckfast Abbey, an active Benedictine monastery, at its heart. Buckland-in-the-Moor is also well worth a visit and is said to be one of Devon's "dream villages". For those seeking a day at the beach only a short drive from Estochia, venture to the north or south coast for gems such as Ness Cove, accessed by an original smugglers cove, and Blackpool Sands, said to be one of South Devon's must-visit beach. Wine connoisseurs will delight in a visit to Alder Vineyard to enjoy a vineyard and wine tasting tour - it has an award-winning kitchen and bar too!
