Seek comfort in each beautifully appointed space, with rooms perfect for both socialising and unwinding throughout the day. Inviting relaxation, a collection of sitting rooms and snugs offer both moments of quietude and conversation. Recline fireside with a book, or gripping TV series in the cushioned embrace of a Loaf sofa, or gather over shared anecdotes and aperitifs as the windows frame an ever-changing portrait of season and sky.

For recreation and leisure, find Osric's exclusive games barn with an entertainment room, playroom and cinema screen. Perfect for adults and children alike, a selection of games provides endless fun, such as a full-size snooker table, table tennis and table football. A children's play area and crafts table offer magical hours lost in creativity, while for grown-ups, comfortable sofas, a bar, and beer-fridge await for cosy evenings. Calling to all generations, a home-cinema projector screen is amplified with surround sound, making a dream of movie nights gathered around bowls of buttery popcorn.

Eating and dining

The perfect place to plot mesmerising retreats with your nearest and dearest, Osric features a stunning kitchen and a choice of dining areas. Exuding romantic rusticity with homely farmhouse styling, open beams, and exposed stonework, the kitchen space is a delight for crafting breakfast banquets and flavoursome feasts. Seamlessly integrated around a large kitchen island is a range of equipment and accoutrements, including a four-oven Aga, American-style fridge-freezer and more.

Ideal for both laidback gatherings and candlelit dinners over delectable dishes, the kitchen features a farmhouse dining table, while an additional dining room bathed in teal tones and adorned with vintage maps and a wood burning stove, features a grand dining table with seating for up to twelve (or 14 if needed).

Sleeping and bathing

Osric has seven bedrooms and four bathrooms for utmost comfort and convenience.

Featuring a double bed and its own ensuite bathroom, 'Ash' promises a serene sanctuary in which to recline. Dressed in calming hues and infused with wood and brass notes, its peaceful ambience is irresistible for long lie-ins and early nights ensconced in the finest linens.

A welcoming space for children and teenagers, 'Walnut' is a beautiful bedroom with split-level sleeping. On one level, a cosy king-size bed beckons for deep sleep, topped with the softest cushions and throws. Children's books and toys adorn shelves, and a window reveals leafy views. For added comfort, wooden stepladder lead to a mezzanine with a super-king mattress, suitable for older children.

Picturesque 'Cherry' enjoys soothing tones and relaxing views over the garden. Ideal for younger generations, it boasts a double bed, and a mezzanine above arranged with a single mattress, beanbags, sheepskins and cushions. For entertainment, a writing desk and chair encourage moments of creativity, while children's books decorate open shelves around the room for bedtime tales.

An idyllic space for downtime and slumber, 'Holly' is a charming bedroom just wonderful for children. The cosiest retreat, a single bed resides on one level, enswathed in the highest quality linens and comfiest throws. Above, a wooden stepladder leads to a mezzanine with an additional single mattress for the sweetest of dreams.

Walnut, Cherry, and Holly share a bathroom with a shower and also a bath for bubble-topped soaks.

The most delightful space from which to start and end each day, 'Oak' showcases verdant vistas and entices for sun-dappled quietude. At the centre, a king-size bed is enswathed in linens and paired with a backless chaise lounge for tranquil moments. Completing this room is a dressing room and an ensuite bathroom with a rolltop bath, as well as a separate shower room.

Follow another staircase to find Beech, a first-floor bedroom with sun-brushed views over the leafy canopies beyond the window. Exuding character with painted stone walls, exposed beams, and vaulted ceilings, it curates an enchanting space to relax and unwind. Taking centre stage is a king-size bed, along with two comfortable armchairs in which to savour hours lost between pages.

'Apple' resides next to Beech and promises a heavenly space bathed in neutral hues and decorated with colourful artworks. Tempting for rest and relaxation, a double bed nestles beneath a skylight with shutters, perfect for cocooning away from the world or stargazing on cloudless nights.

Swimming pool, sauna and gym

A spellbinding retreat in all seasons, Osric encourages guests to embrace the art of slow, luxurious living. Available for use throughout the year, a shared indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, and gym beckon for recreation and relaxation. Glide through the water of the 15-meter pool, relax in the healing warmth of the sauna, or lounge waterside with your latest page-turner and immerse in soothing self-care. In the gym, a treadmill, indoor bike trainer and Swiss ball await, while a changing room and wet room can also be found to complement wellness moments.

Please note that the pool, sauna and gym is shared with guests staying at Buddle Barn, a retreat sleeping four set across the courtyard.

Outside space

Encompassed by private grounds, this divine homestay promises utmost serenity in a blissful bubble. Head outside to uncover meticulously maintained grounds with landscaped lawns, sun-warmed terraces, and flower beds that burst with colour in spring. Seek quietude in the picturesque summerhouse on the lawn, or relax on the manicured grass with a book and spread of delicious treats. For children, the lure of the treehouse is hard to resist, along with a swing and a selection of outdoor games, including croquet. Meanwhile, capturing imaginations and piquing appetites are a gas barbeque and Big Green Egg smoker barbeque - wonderful for crafting chargrilled repasts to enjoy alfresco around the outdoor dining table. As the sun dips towards the horizon and the embers of golden hour fade, cosy around the firepit for starlit moments, complete with toasted marshmallows and warming tipples.

The back lawn, summer house, fire pit and treehouse are shared with up to four guests staying at Buddle Barn, across the courtyard. The front garden is for exclusive use by guests staying in Osric.

Dogs

Up to three dogs are most welcome at Osric. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break. The courtyard is shared with Buddle Barn, so please keep dogs on leads in this shared space.

Babies and children

Osric welcomes babies and children. An additional single bed can be provided, and a cot and highchair are available upon request.

Parking

There is private parking on the drive for up to six cars.

Only a short distance from both the magical Dartmoor National Park and sun-kissed South Devon coast, Osric enjoys a heavenly location nestled between countryside and coast. It's also only a stone's throw from an array of charming Devonshire towns and villages, including Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot, Dawlish and Exmouth. Immerse in timeless exploration and set off from the doorstep, savouring local walks nearby around Canonteign Estate and Canonteign Falls. The highest in the South West, the falls are particularly beautiful to see, culminating in the dramatic 220-feet-high Lady Exmouth Waterfall. Wander the wooded trails, before heading to Canonteign Kitchen where seasonal food and drinks are served throughout the year.

For seekers of wild escapism, the pull of Dartmoor is irresistible. Just a short drive from Osric, the craggy outcrops of Haytor and Hound Tor call to walkers and reveal breath-taking vistas over the moors and beyond towards the coast. For walks in exhilarating coastal air, the South West Coast Path is a world-renowned long-distance walking trail that follows the coast not far from Osric. Head north or south and bask in some of the county's most glorious scenery, stopping to paddle in the crystalline sea on balmy days. For a taste of city living, the historic streets of Exeter can be easily reached and offer rich collections of boutiques, galleries, and places to eat. Enjoy a satiating meal in the city, or seek a taste of Michelin refinement at one of the county's award-winning restaurants nearby, such as the Michelin starred Lympstone Manor in Lympstone, the Elephant in Torquay or Gidleigh Park in Chagford.
