We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Akin:

A perfect retreat for a peaceful break with everything there you need. Akin is tastefully decorated with great attention to detail. The owners were extremely attentive and friendly.

The attention to detail, interior design and ambience has been so considered and the result is a beautiful relaxed place to stay. The location is stunning. Probably the best stay we have had - neither of us wanted to leave.

Superior and luxurious sanctuary in a wonderful location. Perfect for hiking and relaxing. Highly recommended.

Absolutely lovely place to stay, super comfy and snug after wet and windy days on the moors!

Akin is beautiful inside and out. The gardens and surrounding area are magical, it's very secluded and only a 10min drive to a lovely farm shop and lots of brilliant walks. The hot tub was great to relax in after a long walk! Blissfully relaxing, the perfect antidote to city life. The cottage has everything you need to cook nice meals and relax over a drink. One of the best cottages we've stayed in!

We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful escape. Both the cottage and surrounding area were beautiful, and the perfect hideaway for two - to have Dartmoor right on the doorstep is idyllic, and the cottage accomodated for everything you could possibly need and more. The hot tub was an excellent bonus we didn't realise we needed but greatly appreciated!

We loved Akin. So quiet and peaceful. Everything was thought of and Sarah was a perfect host. We were extremely lucky with the weather and made use of the hot tub everyday after long walks in the beautiful countryside. The barns surroundings are secure enough just to open the door and the pup roam, our staffie loved laying up in the long grass in the hot weather. We will return.

Absolutely fabulous stay, the cottage was beautifully decorated, Sarah has such a great eye for details. We’ve stayed in a lot of places over the years and Sarah has thought of everything, it contained everything you or your pup could want! We loved the welcome basket- it was spot on, particularly wanted to shout out those delicious cookies! All in all we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Akin!

This cottage is beautiful! A little piece of luxury in a quiet location. It’s slightly more remote than I would normally choose but I booked with the intention of having much needed peace, quiet and relaxation. I achieved just that! I hope to come back and stay again!
