Beyond the grounds of the estate, a whole realm awaits for exploration, tangled with ancient woodland and painted with undulating fells. Living
A divine space for rest and relaxation, the main living area boasts vast windows which show off captivating views over the countryside and a door connecting to the pretty outdoor terrace. With painted stone walls, wooden floors, a sumptuous sofa, and window-side armchair, it's a light-filled pocket that's as lovely for leisurely mornings watching the sun burst over the horizon as it is for cosy evenings tucked up inside. Embrace a tranquil evening watching your favourite show on the Smart TV, or retreat to the snug with your latest read and lose yourself to the pages. Eating
Decorated in neutral shades playfully complemented by Moroccan-inspired tiles, the pretty cottage kitchen has everything you need for channelling your culinary creativity. Featuring all the essentials for decadent breakfasts and evening repasts after days in the fells, it includes a dishwasher, oven, washing machine and the all-important Nespresso coffee machine for deliciously aromatic pick-me-ups.
Connected to the living area through an open walkway, the forest-green dining room invites for romantic feasts in front of an open fire.
Sleeping and bathing
For nights of restful slumber, Kai's beautiful bedroom awaits with a king-size bed, marshmallow-soft duvet, and the finest linens, topped with plump cushions and throws. With an attractive wood-panelled feature wall contrasted with soothing tones, this space provides an oasis of calm and luxury escapism. The characterful bathroom promises a clawfoot bathtub, perfect for soothing soaks after a day of exploration.
Outdoor space
Outside, the beauty of Kai seeps out into the grounds, with every detail carefully considered for the most blissful stay. Parking
There is parking for two large cars outside the cottage.
Babies and children
Babes-in-arms (up to 6 months) are most welcome at Kai, one travel cot and one highchair will be available on request. Please contact the office to book a babe-in-arms in to Kai.
Dogs
Two dogs are most welcome at Kai. Doggy beds and bowls for your four-legged friends are available on request.

In the Area
Within easy reach of many of the most beautiful sights of both the North Pennines AONB and Lake District and only a few miles from the historic market town Penrith, Kai is ideally located for exploration. Should you wish to venture beyond the luxury of our beautiful abode, you will immediately stumble upon endless reams of pastoral countryside laced with paths and trails for ambles in the fresh air. A particular highlight, a trip to the mirror-topped Ullswater in the Lake District won't fail to captivate for its unrivalled scenery, especially when combined with a visit to Aira Force Waterfall too. For a hearty ramble, Cross Fell, the highest point of the Pennine Range, calls to those looking for a challenging hike, rewarded with breath-taking views.
For history lovers, you can journey back in time at the Bronze Age stone circle Long Meg and Her Daughters and explore Lowther Castle and its 130-acre grounds, both near Penrith. Meanwhile for literary fans, the chance to visit the carefully preserved homes of legendary authors William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter in the Lake District cannot be missed. To satiate your appetite, there are a number of tantalising eateries and welcoming country pubs within Penrith too, including the award-winning 1863 restaurant which serves delicious plates in tandem with the seasons. Allium at Askham Hall and the Dog and Gun in Skelton have both earned Michelin stars for their exquisite food and fine service and are within easy reach of Kai.
