Welcoming up to six guests and two canine companions, Sala promises the perfect base for exploring the Lake District National Park and North Pennines AONB, with Ullswater Lake, the third deepest English lake, just a short drive away. Penrith is the closest town, with a weekly market every Saturday, plus a host of independent shops and mouth-watering eateries, from hearty pubs to award-winning restaurants such as Allium at Askham Hall. After days spent exploring your beautiful surroundings, retreat to your heavenly homestay, where a flickering wood burning stove will set the mood for cosy evenings curled up on the sofa, whilst a hot tub awaits in the enclosed garden for starlit nights with bubbles of the champagne and hot tub variety. You'll also find a luxurious roll top bath in the master bedroom.


Lower occupancy rate

A special lower occupancy rate applies at Sala, outside of school holidays, peak weeks, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year.

Option one offers a 10% discount for parties of four guests or less. At this rate, the master bedroom and bedroom two will be available for you.

Option two offers a 20% discount for parties of two guests or less. At this rate, the master bedroom will be available for you.

Living

There's plenty of space for socialising in the bright and airy lounge, with two comfy sofas and a quirky armchair positioned perfectly to soak up the warmth of the glowing wood burning stove. Settle in for cosy evenings filled with sweet treats and laughter, with a large Smart TV to watch family favourites on your streaming service of choice. There's also a Marshall radio and a bookshelf filled with tales to sink into, promising heavenly moments of quietude for slow-paced days in your peaceful abode.


Eating and dining

Step into the soothing country kitchen, which has all you'll need to prepare mouth-watering feasts with your loved ones. You'll find a Range Master oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, and a Nespresso coffee machine for morning pick-me-ups. A dishwasher and washing machine can be found in the utility room. At the far side of the kitchen sits a rustic dining table for six, providing the perfect space for lavish lunches and sumptuous suppers.


Sleeping

The master bedroom is a large and inviting space, with mesmerising views across the lake at Edenhall Estate. For moments of rest, a king size sleigh bed awaits, bedecked with sumptuous cushions and throws which beautifully complement the floral lampshades and forest inspired wallpaper. At the far end of the room sits a stunning roll top bath, the ultimate setting for romantic bubble-topped moments with a glass of fizz in hand. You'll also find a comfy armchair, perfectly positioned to enjoy hushed moments with your latest read. Storage can be found in the walk-through, complete with a chest of drawers, free standing mirror, and an accent chair.

Bedroom two has a comfortable king size bed dressed in vibrant cushions and throws, with retro bedside tables and beautifully calming, bird print wallpaper. There is also a chest of drawers for storing your belongings.

The third bedroom is oh-so-calming with safari themed interiors, a double bed and bedside tables which beautifully complement the mid-century style headboard. You'll also find a chest of drawers to store your treasures.


Bathing

The modern family bathroom is situated on the first floor, complete with a sleek white bathtub and a handheld shower attachment for serene soaks. There's also a heated towel rail to keep towels fluffy and warm.

On the ground floor, you'll find the downstairs bathroom and utility room, with striking black tiling and quirky mosaic feature walls - along with a large walk-in rainfall shower for refreshing wake-me-up moments.


Outdoor space

Step outside to uncover a tranquil lawned garden, which is perfectly enclosed for canine companions to explore. A teak dining table comfortably seats six, promising a wonderful setting to enjoy meals alfresco on balmy blue-sky days, with the addition of a barbeque for freshly grilled feasts. After days spent exploring the dramatic Lake District, retreat to the bubbling hot tub to enjoy magical moments under starlit skies. Please note that the grounds beyond Sala's enclosed garden are private.


Parking

There is plenty of off-road parking available in the Edenhall Guest Car Park, just around the corner from Sala.


Babies and children

Babies and children are most welcome at Sala. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.


Dogs

Up to two dogs are welcome at Sala. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

For those seeking slower-paced days, cruise along the lake on one of the Ullswater 'Steamers', from which you can explore some of the most iconic walking routes in the Lake District National Park. Penrith is a short drive away, with a host of independent shops, great restaurants, pubs, and a weekly market held every Saturday. William Wordsworth's childhood home Wordsworth House is in the heart of Penrith and is free for National Trust members to visit. A visit to Hill Top, the Lakeland home of Beatrix Potter, is also a must-visit for literary enthusiasts.
