Leave the world behind and escape to this idyllic, sleepy spot where time slows down a notch or two and a dreamy abode awaits. Understated yet luxurious, Huxham Croft is classically beautiful and ideal for couples and families alike, with two bedrooms (one a twin), a spacious kitchen and pretty sitting room. Outside, there's plenty of gardens to roam, plus use of a hot tub and tennis court. Set deep within the Somerset countryside yet just under three hours from London, you're perfectly positioned to visit such spots as the Mendip Hills, Wells, Bruton, Frome and Glastonbury whilst Bath is under an hour away.

Living

The sumptuous sitting room is just a delight, offering deep, blissful seating to curl up in, whether it's by the crackling wood burner during cooler months or escaping the heat of the day in summer. With a comfy leather sofa plus two occasional chairs, there's space for everyone to come together and the warm, soft colour tones and golden-hued wooden floor makes this a peaceful, calming room to retreat to.

Eating

The gorgeous kitchen and breakfast room is the perfect space to come together. The contemporary country kitchen with granite tops boasts a double oven, induction hob, dishwasher, fridge, large island for prepping food and everything else you might need to rustle up meals for your loved ones. There's also a Dualit coffee machine with milk frother for coffee aficionados.

You'll find a dining table here too, whilst outside you can eat alfresco at the large teak refectory table or in the outside covered seating area.

This lovely part of Somerset is home to some of the best produce to be found in the UK, so make sure to pay a visit to a farm shop to stock up the fridge for your stay!

There's a separate utility room with washing machine, microwave and small freezer.

Sleeping

There are two lovely bedrooms at Huxham Croft. The delightful master bedroom in natural shades with touches of aubergine has a plumptuous king size bed with views over the garden, wardrobe and occasional chair, whilst the second bedroom has 3ft wrought iron twin beds - perfect for little ones - with a wardrobe and chest of drawers. All beds come swathed in Egyptian cotton linens, hypo-allergenic pillows, luxurious throws and cushions to guarantee a blissful nights' sleep.

Bathing

The family bathroom in shades of grey and white has a gorgeously deep bath for long soaks with a shower overhead, for those who prefer something a little more invigorating! There's also a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy and Noble Isle toiletries.

Outdoor space

Just wow! Huxham Croft has the most amazing garden - a sunny spot complete with bags of seating in which to sprawl, whether it's at the large teak table and chairs, laid out on the steamer loungers or enjoying a sundowner on the garden bench. For dining alfresco, there's a large Weber kettle charcoal barbeque. You're also free to explore the extensive gardens to the rear of the farmhouse and to use the large outdoor seating area, tennis court and bubbling hot tub. The owners live on site in the adjacent farmhouse, so you may see them collecting produce from the vegetable patch or tending to the animals.

Parking

There is private parking in front of Huxham Croft for two cars, with more available on request should you need it.

Babies and children

Little ones are welcome at Huxham Croft - a travel cot, highchair and stair gate can be provided on request.

Dogs

One well-behaved dog is welcome, but please note there are hens and sheep plus a cat on the property and the garden is not fully enclosed so dogs must not be left unattended. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

WiFi

Huxham Croft has WiFi so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world you can.

In the Area

The Mendip Hills are just a short drive away and a must-do; the walking here is fantastic, and you'll witness the most beautiful views. Wooky Hole Caves, with over 60,000 years of history and Cheddar Gorge, a limestone gorge set in the Mendip Hills, are both wonderful natural landmarks and well worth a visit. Glastonbury is also nearby and a must-see for the Tor, Abbey and Sacred Well. The Newt in Somerset is a must for that special meal or to visit the amazing gardens. The city of Wells has a beautiful cathedral and a fab market. Bruton is a lovely little town just fifteen minutes away where there are some brilliant places in to eat, including At The Chapel (who also have a fantastic bakery) and Roth Bar & Grill. There are lots of independent shops, two excellent pubs and a thriving community - there's always something going on. The famous Hauser & Wirth gallery set in a beautifully restored 18th century farm, just outside Bruton, is a real treat for art lovers. The market town of Frome, half an hour away, has a famous and very popular artisan market on the first weekend of each month, with the added temptation of designer, vintage, and craft shops in cobbled St Catherine's Hill. The Roman city of Bath is a 50-minute drive away and great to visit during longer stays, whilst the Dorset coast is just over an hour away by car. All this just under three hours' drive or train journey from London!

Set within the grounds of a Georgian farmhouse in the Somerset countryside, this luxury dog friendly retreat offers gorgeous gardens and a bubbling hot tub.
