Officially the UK’s sunniest place and nestled between the South Downs National Park and the historical setting of the Battle of Hastings, this is a land of endless vistas, dramatic cliffs and gorgeous downland to explore. 

Just over an hour from London, Eastbourne itself is classically British with a 19th century pier and a wide promenade fronting the shingle beaches, backed by immense Victorian hotel. A short drive out of the town and you’ll discover the coastal landmark of Beachy Head and around to the world-famous, iconic sight of the Seven Sisters.

With Eastbourne seafront stretching three miles and with a host of awards for the cleanliness of its shingle beaches, this is a fabulous spot for a swim or simply to laze away an afternoon. If you’re feeling more active, Eastbourne marks the start of the 101-mile long South Downs Way, so why not don your boots and explore the beautiful landscape of this stunning area.

Head to ‘Little Chelsea’ a charming collection of Victorian streets on the edge of the town centre, full to the brim with lovely independent shops and cafes, whilst there are a plethora of places to eat too – the perfect way to quench that shopping thirst!

Eastbourne is surrounded by a wonderful collection of pretty villages to explore, so pop in the car (soft top preferable) and take yourself off for a tour of this beautiful, relaxed and oh-so-sunny part of England.
