This pretty seaside abode is just adorable and located in the most enviable position in the heart of St Ives, close to the harbour beach, set back slightly amongst the cobbled and winding streets. From the moment you step through the door, you'll find a peaceful retreat where the hustle and bustle of the busy town can be shut out easily should you wish, so you can relax in this lovely three-storey retreat. With underfloor heating on the central and lower ground floor, a wood burner and a freestanding slipper bath in the bedroom upstairs, this is a perfect couple's getaway, whether it's spring/summertime or the autumn and winter months and also benefits from being dog friendly, so your four-legged friend doesn't have to stay at home.

Living and eating

There are two living spaces - the main living, dining and kitchen space is open plan and the first thing you see on entering the property. With underfloor heating and a beautiful Clearview wood burning stove, this is a warm, welcoming and laid-back space. There's a cosy, squishy sofa to curl up on in front of the fire, with a Smart TV/DVD player, just in case. The kitchen, to the back of the room, is stylish and bright, equipped with everything an amorous chef might need to create meals for their loved one, including an AEG gas hob and oven, dishwasher, washing machine and that all-important Nespresso coffee machine. There's a rustic farmhouse-style kitchen table with built in bench and additional chairs which seat up to six comfortably, should you have guests visiting. In addition, there's a snug on the lower ground floor complete with a comfortable Willow & Hall sofa and large ottoman, plus a Smart TV with built in DVD player - perfect for evenings in, watching your favourite film with a glass or two of something special.

Sleeping

The oh-so-romantic bedroom lies at the top of the property amongst the exposed eaves, with gorgeously exposed white wood floorboards. The bed, tucked away in the corner, is softly lit, making it a dreamy place to slumber. There's also a television if you feel like watching your favourite box set from the comfort of your bed. In addition, there's a beautiful slipper bath for long afternoon soaks with a heated rail to keep towels fluffy and warm, plus an occasional wicker chair.

Bathing

In addition to the stunning slipper bath, there's an en suite loo and basin, whilst there's a wet room on the lower ground floor for wake-me-up showers. Toiletries, fluffy bath towels and luxurious bath robes mean you'll be super cosy.

Outdoor space

There's a bench to the front of the retreat, making it a perfect spot to sit with a morning coffee and look out down to the beach and the sea, which is a stone's throw away. There's also an outside shower for washing sandy feet, wetsuits and dogs after a day out exploring, together with space to hang up wetsuits.

Babies

Babes in arms are welcome, up to 12 months. Please bring your own baby equipment and please call us to book in a baby on 01872 553491.

Dogs

Two dogs are very welcome. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

Parking

Whilst parking isn't provided with the retreat, guests can park in a number of long stay car parks in St Ives. The Island (4 minutes walk), Barnoon (a 7 minute walk away), Park Avenue (9 minutes walk), the Station (11 minutes walk) and Trenwith 1000 space car park (13 minutes walk or a short shuttle bus journey).

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Shellseekers:

A wonderful place to stay. Really relaxing and in an ideal location.

A perfect and very well needed break in your gorgeous and perfectly positioned house. We will be back!

Had a lovely time at your wonderful cottage with my puppy, who enjoyed their first time at the beach. Thank you for the warm welcome. We hope to stay again sometime.

Perfect, just as good as when we stayed last year

Shellseekers is a beautiful and well equipped holiday cottage in a perfect setting by the harbour in St Ives. I didn’t want to leave. It’s thoughtfully and carefully furnished and extremely comfortable. I booked for next year whilst I was still there!

Thank you so much - we cannot stop smiling about this beautiful cottage and our holiday in St Ives. It has been the perfect honeymoon. We recommend St Eia for coffee, croissants and more.

We booked for our honeymoon and the cottage lived up to the pictures. We had a lovely honeymoon and we are sad to go. The little touches in the cottage and the welcome hamper really made it extra special. Although we did have a couple of rainy days it was so cosy in the cottage. We loved exploring St Ives and we recommend The Rum and Crab Shack for dinner and cocktails. Already looking forward to returning and wishing we had booked for two more weeks.

Thank you - such a beautiful cottage Everything we needed was here. Amazing location and how blessed we were with sunshine the whole time. Looking forward to returning...

Despite the weather, we had an amazing week. Shellseekers is the cosiest cottage in the perfect location. We came for my birthday and it was the best week.

As a solo traveller, I really liked the size and location of the cottage. It is very stylish and comfortable and it was lovely to have a little basket of goodies awaiting when I first arrived. Thank you!

Couldn't wish for a more better location, just a few steps from the harbour and mins away from the wonderful beaches. The cottage is the perfect boutique stay for a couple with or without a dog!

Delightful cottage, thank you for all the attention to detail. We had a lovely four nights in St Ives, luckily the weather held, and we really felt like we could have been abroad. We enjoyed walks to and from Carbis Bay, with great views of St Ives. We will return…

Thank you for a wonderful stay in the beautiful Shellseekers. What a way to spend the first part of our honeymoon with our Cockerpoo, Norman. We enjoyed morning dips in the sea, going to see the seals and walking to Zennor. The restaurants and boutiques in St Ives are great too!

Lovely, comfortable, and cosy holiday cottage. Everything you need for a relaxing break by the sea. If you’re not eating out the cottage has all the appliances you need to cook a lovely meal. There’s a TV on all 3 floors, and a very comfortable bed. Having the roll top bath in the bedroom was a lovely treat, it’s so comfy to sit in. The welcome hamper of cheese, biscuits, and wine was much appreciated. We would definitely stay again!

We had a magical week at Shellseekers. The perfect location to cram all of St Ives in and more. We were blessed with a week of amazing weather, it was exactly what we needed for a relaxing break.

Excellent little cottage! They have truly thought of everything! Ideal location and so well equipped!

A wonderful cottage which was well equipped and warm and welcoming. Lovely place to stay

What a lovely cottage - well equipped with everything you need. The hamper was a nice touch too. St Ives has some lovely little shops and restaurants. We loved our visit!

Perfect cottage in the old part of St Ives. Stylish, well equipped and comfortable. Marvelous location- dolphins swimming off the headland. Dog friendly and easy walks nearby.

We loved everything about Shellseekers and fully expect to be back in the future.

An ideal location for those looking to explore and enjoy the many charms of St Ives.

Fabulous cottage in a very central to everything position. Super comfortable, everything you need for a perfect stay in St Ives

Excellent location and good welcome hamper.

We absolutely loved the cottage, it was beautiful. Everything had been thought about, all the extra details were fabulous. We were on our honeymoon so it was lovely having champagne glasses and the little Cornish hamper was such a nice touch. We had the best time!

Lovely cottage with superb facilities in a fantastic location in the most scenic part of St. Ives. Although there are no parking facilities, the Island Long Stay Car Park is less than five minutes walk away.

Great location and nice comfortable place from which to explore St Ives.

Beautiful cottage with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay.

Cosy cottage, well appointed and perfectly located. Tucked just off the harbour side all of St Ives is a short walk away.

Lovely place to stay in an ideal location!

The cottage was in an ideal situation for two lovely beaches one especially good for surfing. The cottage was beautiful and the owners had provided everything you could want to have a comfortable holiday. The cottage is great if you want a car free holiday as everything is in walking distance. Just park the car and forget about it. Perhaps travel down by train and avoid needing a car there is so much to do and the car is really not necessary.

Location fantastic lovely cottage.

So much love for this perfect cottage - would return in a heartbeat!

A wonderful place to stay, only ten steps from the Quay. This gorgeous little cottage felt like home, extremely comfortable and well looked after. Apart from the lack of parking (which no-one has in the centre of the Downalong area), we could not fault it and would certainly return for another holiday there.

Perfect little cottage in every way. Beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you require for eating in. Very comfortable and clean. Extremely convenient location in prime position yet beautifully tranquil.

A beautiful cottage, really well designed and beautiful interior. Felt very comfortable there all week and didn’t want to leave!
