Nestled on the cliffs of Whitsand Bay with glorious sea views, this beautiful, dog friendly retreat for couples is what romantic seaside living is all about. Cabin on the Cliff is a love song to the sea - from the luxurious interiors which beautifully complement the colours of the ocean, to the healing qualities of water with both a hot tub and bathtub.
Cabin on the Cliff is perfectly positioned to explore the pretty south Cornish coast, from the wonderful Rame Head Heritage Coast to Fowey and beyond, whilst inland you're not far from the lush Tamar Valley and the wilds of Bodmin Moor.
The Cabin
Lovingly designed and hand built by its owners, this recently finished eco-cabin considers every detail. We just love the natural wood kitchen and feature wall in the bedroom which uses reclaimed timber from the former chalet on the site. The double-sided wood burning stove, sumptuous sofa and polished concrete floors and décor offer a clean contemporary finish.
The thoughtful owners have also provided raincoats, wellies and beach towels - so you're covered whatever the weather! In addition, there are two e-Bikes available to hire from the owner for use during your stay, allowing you to easily explore the villages of Portwrinkle, Seaton, Cremyll, Cawsand and Kingsand. As Cabin on the Cliff is in such a wonderful location, it is a 60-100m walk down a footpath from parking to the cabin and is not recommended for those with mobility limitations.
Living and eating
The open plan living, kitchen and dining area is just lovely. The far wall is home to the kitchen, with everything you need hidden behind upcycled wood cupboards and a polished concrete worktop. Compact yet housing everything you'll need to create meals for your beloved, you'll find a Smeg two ring induction hob and oven, slimline dishwasher, fridge with freezer, microwave and the all-important Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother as well as all the other equipment you'll need. In addition, there's a washer/dryer kept in the shed.
To the front, making the most of the glorious views, lies a bijoux table and chairs for meals, whilst nestled to the front, with majestic sea views from the full height sliding glass doors, is a beautiful teal velvet sofa (just perfect for cuddles), wood burning stove and Smart TV for those special evenings in.
Sleeping
Just wow! We don't think you'll find anywhere more romantic than this oh-so-dreamy bedroom. With a super comfy European king size bed, a view of the wood burner and a jaw-droppingly gorgeous bathtub for two combined with the epic scenery, you'll never want to leave. During warmer months, open the glass doors to let the salty breeze waft in whilst you enjoy breakfast in bed, whilst at night star gaze from a bath full of bubbles, glass in hand. Equally beautiful in winter, gaze at awe at stormy seas whilst blissfully cosy from the heat of the flickering flames - truly a getaway you'll never forget.
Bathing
There's a separate shower room with walk in shower with large rain fall head, and of course you've got the exquisite bathtub for long, luxurious soaks in the bedroom. There's a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy. Luxurious bath robes and slippers are provided.
Outdoor space
With a blissful terrace overlooking the dreamy coastline, you'll not want to leave this enchanted terrace on three levels. With the view changing consistently throughout the day from morning to night, you will never bore of the view, whether it's the pink glow of dawn, fiery red sunsets or the blanket of stairs glittering on the sea. To make sure you're as comfortable as can be, on level one you'll find the sun loungers, dining table and chairs and barbeque - perfect for alfresco dining. On level two, you'll find the outdoor sofa (which expands into a day bed) for total relaxation. Take the stairs to the third level and you'll find the hot tub in all its bubbling glory - ready and waiting for you to immerse yourself.
The exterior of this eco-cabin is as carefully considered as the interior. The sedum green roof, blackened cladding, copper details and bespoke entry gate make Cabin on the Cliff as visually captivating as the nature that surrounds it.

There is public parking provided 1- 3 minutes' walk away. A parking permit (found in the cabin) is available for your use.

In the Area
There's plenty of things to see and do in this hidden corner of Cornwall. Boasting fantastic, unspoilt beaches, Whitsand Bay and Freathy in particular are often overlooked and not so well known by visitors, so is it a perfect, peaceful spot. For places to eat, visit The Clifftop Café, a short walk from Cabin on the Cliff, promising beautiful views and delicious light lunches and sweet treats. Pop in the car (or get a taxi) to The Carew Arms in Antony village - a gastro pub with a café and farm shop, or The Devonport Inn in Kingsand. The Finnygook Inn is well worth a visit for a Sunday lunch with all the trimmings. Take the passenger ferry at Cremyll to Royal William Yard where you'll find lots of restaurants and shops. Take time out to explore the nearby seaside villages of Kingsand, Cawsand, Looe and Polperro. Of course, the South West Coastal Path is on your doorstep too so is perfect for walking.
