Promising the dream staycation setting for romantics and lovers of the outdoors, Rogues Roost boasts a sleek, open plan living, eating and dining space on the ground floor, whilst on the mezzanine level, an inviting king size bed awaits for blissful moments of rest. Outside, you’ll find a private patio complete with an alfresco dining table and sun loungers for soaking up the sun in the warmer months. Beyond the patio, unveil a verdant lawn with a backdrop of a gentle river, rolling countryside and towering trees. Explore nearby Dartmouth, with its beautiful coastal setting, independent shops and mouth-watering eateries. Spend memorable days on sandy shores, from the award-winning Blackpool Sands to the golden stretch of Torcross Beach. Wildly breath-taking Dartmoor is also well worth visiting, and is only a short drive from Rogues Roost.

Living, eating and dining

Centred around a contemporary wood burning stove, the living, eating, and dining space is open plan, yet oh-so-cosy. In the cooler months, settle fireside for evenings in front of the fire, with a snug occasional chair and a large, comfy sofa which is perfect for curling up on. Romantic meals are best savoured before the large bi-fold doors, which invite the outside in on sun-soaked days. At the far side of the room, you’ll find a modern kitchen, fully equipped with a fan oven, induction hob, dishwasher, washing machine, stove top Moka pot, cafetiere and everything else you might need safely tucked away, plus a breakfast bar and plenty of space to prepare culinary delights for you and your special someone.

Sleeping and bathing

On the mezzanine, you'll find an inviting sleeping area with a comfortable king size bed, gently sun-lit by the Velux windows above, where you can watch the tops of the trees gently swaying in the summer breeze whilst enjoying a leisurely breakfast in bed. During warmer months, open the balcony door and let the sound of the babbling river lull you to sleep. Outside, you'll find a bistro table and chairs for enjoying moments of quietude with your freshly brewed morning coffee.

The en suite bathroom features a romantic bathtub for two, with the addition of a refreshing shower for rejuvenating morning moments, plus a heated towel rail to keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outdoor space

Step outside to discover a delightful setting for alfresco living, with an outdoor dining table, barbecue, and sun loungers for basking in the sunshine. To the front and side of the retreat, you’ll find a lawned garden, whilst a balcony provides a quiet corner with an additional table and chairs for relaxing with evening tipples and morning lattes. Rogues Roost is surrounded by beautiful countryside, embraced by trees and unspoilt views of the river and rolling hills.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Rogues Roost:

Very comfortable and well equipped accommodation in a lovely secluded spot

The lodge had everything one needed and was so comfortable. The owner was next door and always ready to chat & help as and when needed.. Sheer bliss.

An immaculate and wonderfully modern property in the most tranquil situation, but only a few miles from all the highlight towns of Devon.

Stylish, comfortable, well equipped property with beautiful gardens. Very relaxing!

Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, lovely welcome hamper and very friendly and helpful host.

Fabulous setting, easy access to both Totnes and Dartmouth and perfect accommodation.

One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in.

Fabulous place to stay!

Such a beautiful house, small but perfectly formed. Immaculately clean.

This is a wonderful property that met all expectations. The patio area with its views down to the river are very special. We hope to return one day.

Rogues Roost was one of the best places I have ever stayed at. Stylish, just loved the decor, warm & comfortable. Perfectly situated for visiting south Devon & Dartmoor, but also some nice local walks from the door. Peaceful, relaxing with river & countryside views. I know I will return.

Excellent relaxing space, good welcome package to get the stay started. Would recommend Rogues Roost as a base, varied dining options in the local towns and villages. Lots to see and do, close enough to Dartmoor for walking.

It was superb, clean, very comfy and well equipped.

Such a beautiful property surrounded by idyllic countryside. Felt very welcomed and everything was lovely! Lovely shower and bath beautiful smelling hand wash to use gorgeous comfy bed beautiful wood burner we couldn’t fault a thing ! If the weather had been better we would have spent more time in the garden simply stunning overlooking a babbling river , very relaxing to listen to at night . The seating in the living area was very comfortable as well. The village was a short drive away from Totnes another stunning place we visited. A fantastic break !

We had a wonderful stay at Rouges Roost. The property was spotless & very comfortable. Loved the fact you could lay in bed & look up at the sky & if you lucky, see the stars! There were a few lovely touches such as a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge & a small jar of homemade jam.Eggs, bread & milk too! We also loved the garden which was an added bonus. Just loved everything about it.

Adorable cottage in a stunning location.

Our second visit, excellent location and a beautiful property.

Lovely accommodation with good access to Torbay and Totnes. Quiet with well kept garden/surroundings.

An extremely comfortable, quiet, self contained property, nestled in luscious greenery with a stream running down below. The owner caters for the visitor’s every need.

A wonderful retreat for two on the edge of a village with views to the surrounding countryside. Beautiful house with everything you need to relax and enjoy this part of Devon.

Absolutely fantastic! Set in a quiet corner of the village overlooking a stream with a heron and fields of sheep that kept us entertained perfect peace was obtained. Immense thought had gone into the furnishings, fittings and equipment to make our stay truly 5 star plus. The welcome produce included milk, eggs, bread, preserve, Prosecco (although we do not drink) we’re gratefully consumed and only surpassed by our welcome by our host Ludmilla! We thank you enormously and are planning our return imminently.

Everything about Rogues Roost was fantastic- a lovely space with a beautiful garden in a great location.

The owner gave us a warm welcome and was really helpful and left some essentials to start us off. The Prosecco was a lovely touch. There are plenty of coastal walks, and Totnes on the doorstep. Lovely place - comfy, clean and cosy - what more can you ask for when you are escaping for Christmas break!

Lovely comfortable stay at this retreat which was very nicely done out and furnished and appreciated the little touches like having some basic essential waiting for us, and loved having the wood burner on cold evenings. The location was very good only a few miles out from Totnes and within easy reach to the rest of the South Hams. We'd definitely stay again. Thanks

Such a stunning place, we truly enjoyed a relaxing week at Rogues Roost. We received a very warm welcome and lovely little treats inside which were really appreciated. The cottage was immaculate inside and out. When you’re inside or out on the decking you feel like you have total privacy. The view from the loungers is amazing. The cottage has everything you could need and is only a 5 min drive from Totnes for restaurants. There are also a couple of fab pubs within a 40 min walk in the beautiful countryside. Bens farm is a 10min drive away and perfect for stocking some essentials. Would recommend in a heartbeat and hope to return.
