Uncover luxury in abundance at our secluded, timber clad haven in the soul-soothing Devonshire countryside. Promising the dream staycation setting for romantics and lovers of the outdoors, Rogues Roost boasts a sleek, open plan living, eating and dining space on the ground floor, whilst on the mezzanine level, an inviting king size bed awaits for blissful moments of rest. Outside, you’ll find a private patio complete with an alfresco dining table and sun loungers for soaking up the sun in the warmer months. Beyond the patio, unveil a verdant lawn with a backdrop of a gentle river, rolling countryside and towering trees. Explore nearby Dartmouth, with its beautiful coastal setting, independent shops and mouth-watering eateries. Spend memorable days on sandy shores, from the award-winning Blackpool Sands to the golden stretch of Torcross Beach. Wildly breath-taking Dartmoor is also well worth visiting, and is only a short drive from Rogues Roost.

Living, eating and dining

Centred around a contemporary wood burning stove, the living, eating, and dining space is open plan, yet oh-so-cosy. In the cooler months, settle fireside for evenings in front of the fire, with a snug occasional chair and a large, comfy sofa which is perfect for curling up on. Romantic meals are best savoured before the large bi-fold doors, which invite the outside in on sun-soaked days. At the far side of the room, you’ll find a modern kitchen, fully equipped with a fan oven, induction hob, dishwasher, washing machine, stove top Moka pot, cafetiere and everything else you might need safely tucked away, plus a breakfast bar and plenty of space to prepare culinary delights for you and your special someone.

Sleeping and bathing

On the mezzanine, you'll find an inviting sleeping area with a comfortable king size bed, gently sun-lit by the Velux windows above, where you can watch the tops of the trees gently swaying in the summer breeze whilst enjoying a leisurely breakfast in bed. During warmer months, open the balcony door and let the sound of the babbling river lull you to sleep. Outside, you'll find a bistro table and chairs for enjoying moments of quietude with your freshly brewed morning coffee.

The en suite bathroom features a romantic bathtub for two, with the addition of a refreshing shower for rejuvenating morning moments, plus a heated towel rail to keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outdoor space

Step outside to discover a delightful setting for alfresco living, with an outdoor dining table, barbecue, and sun loungers for basking in the sunshine. To the front and side of the retreat, you’ll find a lawned garden, whilst a balcony provides a quiet corner with an additional table and chairs for relaxing with evening tipples and morning lattes. Rogues Roost is surrounded by beautiful countryside, embraced by trees and unspoilt views of the river and rolling hills.

Great access to local Devon towns, beaches and wonderful scenery. Fantastic quality property in a great area. The Cott Inn in Dartington was a real winner.

Lovely little place, quiet area, and at night can hear the stream across the road.

What a place! Both the house and the location of the house are amazing. We had such a lovely time and felt very welcome - thank you! The house is very comfortable, the garden is a peaceful place to sit and relax while listening to the river and the kitchen is fully equipped. A home away from home. It is a great base to explore the stunning south Devon nature: with many beaches as well as Dartmoor National Park just a short drive away.

We had a wonderfully relaxing time at this retreat. It’s been beautifully firnished, all top quality fittings. Amazing bath n comfy bed. Gorgeous kitchen n loved opening the bifolds onto the garden with gorgeous green views. We even spotted an eagle! Bliss!

We had a wonderful stay at Rouges Roost. The property was spotless & very comfortable. Loved the fact you could lay in bed & look up at the sky & if you lucky, see the stars! There were a few lovely touches such as a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge & a small jar of homemade jam.Eggs, bread & milk too! We also loved the garden which was an added bonus. Just loved everything about it.

Our second visit, excellent location and a beautiful property.

An extremely comfortable, quiet, self contained property, nestled in luscious greenery with a stream running down below. The owner caters for the visitor’s every need.

A wonderful retreat for two on the edge of a village with views to the surrounding countryside. Beautiful house with everything you need to relax and enjoy this part of Devon.

Absolutely fantastic! Set in a quiet corner of the village overlooking a stream with a heron and fields of sheep that kept us entertained perfect peace was obtained. Immense thought had gone into the furnishings, fittings and equipment to make our stay truly 5 star plus. The welcome produce included milk, eggs, bread, preserve, Prosecco (although we do not drink) we’re gratefully consumed and only surpassed by our welcome by our host Ludmilla! We thank you enormously and are planning our return imminently.

Lovely comfortable stay at this retreat which was very nicely done out and furnished and appreciated the little touches like having some basic essential waiting for us, and loved having the wood burner on cold evenings.
