Welcome to your own private woodland paradise! This larch-clad beauty is just perfect for those wanting a secluded getaway, surrounded by the beauty of nature. Perfect for families and couples alike, the clean, simple yet luxurious approach will bring harmony into your life from the moment you arrive. Of course, the fabulous hot tub will help! Two en suite bedrooms, each with their own private outside space, underfloor heating throughout, large decking and light, airy living spaces make this dog-friendly retreat just idyllic.

The bright, light sitting room has two large sofas to sprawl on and totally relax whilst gazing out over the adjacent wildlife and ponds. Floor-to-ceiling bi-folding glass doors open onto the wooden deck, allowing the outside in on warmer days, whilst there's a Sonos system, 52" Smart TV with Netflix, Prime and cinema sound system for film nights and for catching up on your favourite box sets. In the sideboard you'll find a great selection of games for fun family time together - after all, that's what holidays are made for!

The smooth, sleek kitchen is a joy to cook and bake in, with all the equipment you'll need to magic up delicious dishes throughout your holiday, including an electric oven, microwave, induction hob, dishwasher, washer-dryer and the all-important Nespresso coffee machine. Next to the kitchen and bi-folding glass doors onto the deck, you'll find a fab dining table for four whilst on warmer days you'll want to make the most of dining outside on the sun-soaked deck.

Sleeping and bathing

There are two lovely, peaceful bedrooms, both simply designed with warm wooden floors, electric heating and white walls to ensure the most harmonious setting for a good nights' sleep. The first en suite bedroom has a king size bed with direct access onto a deck outside which looks over the River Yealm and ancient woodland - what better way to wake up in the morning then by the sounds of the birds and wildlife? The second en suite bedroom also has a king size bed and direct access onto its own tucked-away deck area with a table and chairs. Both bedrooms come complete with sumptuously soft bed linens and throws, whilst both en suites are luxuriously warm with underfloor heating, walk-in showers with drench heads and heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outdoor space

Surrounded by unspoilt woodland, being outdoors is a real highlight of this property. To the front is a sun-soaked wooden deck, complete with table, chairs and a large gas barbeque for dining outside during warmer weather. There's also a smaller, private deck leading off from the second bedroom which has a table and chairs, whilst there is decking next to the master bedroom too. A short walk along the deck lies the fabulous hot tub for six, perfect for wallowing an hour or two. On clear nights, why not enjoy lying back and watching the stars above? Just perfect. There's also a wildlife wetland area with two small ponds in front of the house. Of course, you're also free to explore the wider grounds, where there's the Devon Wildlife Reserve nearby where you'll find an idyllic wild flowers and verdant woodland. Make sure to pack a picnic and find a perfect spot for lunch, and maybe a glass of something special.

A travel cot is available on request, please bring along your own bedding. There are unfenced ponds and a river nearby so please ensure children are supervised at all times.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about New England Lodge:

A lovely place and the owners were so lovely and helpful. It was a “get away from it all” retreat and was very quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was an extra bonus which we used every day. Thank you

A lovely comfortable and well equipped property in a beautiful location. Really peaceful and serene, the perfect place to get away and recharge the batteries. It was great listening to the song birds and watching the woodpeckers as well as enjoying the walks. A generous hamper to greet us on arrival was a great surprise and very welcoming. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend it. Thanks 10/10

This retreat was fabulous, it was spotlessly clean, beds were so comfortable and was in nice peaceful location.

Lovely lodge in a quiet setting, within easy reach of lots of beautiful places.

The location of this retreat was perfect in every way:- the view, the beaches within easy reach, Dartmoor, great cafes in Bigbury on Sea, Mothecombe and Salcombe. The Jacuzzi was perfect after all the walks we did and the lodge itself was excellent, we would definitely stay again.

Lovely peaceful cottage, well stocked with everything you need. Hot tub was amazing on a cold night after a gruelling costal walk through the day. Absolutely loved New England Lodge. It was a beautiful location, so tranquil and extremely well designed. The owner was very friendly and helpful too. Thank you! Located very close to a woodland walk which was both pretty and perfect for the first morning dog walk! Explored the local coastline which is stunning and got lucky with the weather. Would highly recommend.

Amazing property, amazing views and natural surroundings

If you are looking for a total break from a hectic life this is the place for you! Nice and quiet away from everything yet close enough to conveniences such as supermarkets, places to eat and lots of beautiful beaches to visit and relax on. The lodge is well equipped and has everything you need. Great for kids and four legged friends too as there are no unnecessary ornaments to concern yourself about. The lodge is very Scandie in look and feel which is perfect for the location it is in.

Such welcoming and friendly owners. Peaceful location but close to so much to keep you entertained. The lodge was stunning both inside and out and we would return in a heartbeat.

Excellent secluded retreat. Nigel was very available and fixed the very small problem with a toaster immediately. Excellent property in a lovely spot on the South Hams
