Welcome to paradise! Teg, meaning 'beautiful' in Cornish, is tucked away in an often-overlooked part of southeast Cornwall, and is a gorgeous, lovingly restored barn conversion which makes a wonderful couples escape. Benefitting from an upside-down approach to make the most of the pretty countryside views, the immense yet warm and welcoming open plan living space encourages all worries and stresses to disappear at the doorway, a calm haven away from the hassle of everyday living. We just love the paired back, contemporary feel of this retreat; a relaxed escape for those wishing to truly unwind, and with a pretty bedroom downstairs leading out onto the courtyard garden complete with bubbling hot tub. Nestled in the unspoilt countryside close to the iconic Tamar Valley and Dartmoor as well as the glorious coastline of Whitsand Bay and the Rame Head Peninsula, this wonderful hideaway offers the best of both Cornish and Devon!
Living and eating

Open the front door and you'll find yourself in the stunning open-plan living space, where vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and striking whitewashed walls await. Silky-smooth wooden floors lie underfoot, and this peaceful, pared back room makes you take a deep breath and instantly relax.

To one end lies the sitting room with a gorgeous, spacious leather sofa, rattan rug and deliciously cosy wood burner. There's a Smart TV for catching up on your favourite box sets or films, but nothing beats turning the lights low and basking in the flickering rays of the wood burner, listening to your favourite tunes on the digital radio with a glass of something super-special in your hand.

Lying at the other end is the kitchen, fully equipped with everything you'll need to create romantic meals for your loved one. There's a Rangemaster cooker, fridge with freezer, dishwasher and all the other essentials, including the all-important Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine. In addition, there's a washer dryer to be found under the stairs.

Sleeping

Take the stairs down to the oh-so-pretty bedroom complete with a delightful wooden-framed king size bed. Swathed in luxurious bedding, linens, throws and cushions, you're guaranteed a blissful nights' sleep. A Smart TV means films in bed are a must, as are breakfasts! When you can rouse yourselves, head through the door that leads onto the sunny courtyard garden for morning coffee at the sunshine yellow table and chairs - bliss.

Bathing

The bathroom leads off the bedroom and benefits from a gorgeously deep bath, perfect for long soaks, and a large walk-in shower with rainfall head. There's also a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outside space

Teg has a lovely courtyard garden for relaxing. There's a fabulous picnic table for meals alfresco, plus a fantastic pizza oven. In addition, there is a smaller yellow table and chairs for coffee or afternoon tea and a hammock for sunny afternoon snoozes. Of course, the pièce de resistance is the bubbling hot tub, the ultimate in relaxation and oh-so-magical when watching the sun set and the stars rise - bliss!

Parking

There is plenty of off road, private parking.

Babies

Teg welcomes babies. A cot, highchair, selection of baby toys and stair gates can be provided on request.

Dogs

One dog is very welcome at Teg. We charge £35 per dog per week or short break.

WiFi

Teg has WiFi so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world, you can.

At Teg, you're perfectly located to explore the best of both worlds, being ideally located on the Devon/Cornwall border. Not far from the market town of Tavistock, the gateway to Dartmoor, there's plenty to see and do to keep you busy whilst Cotehele, owned by the National Trust, is a wonderful Tudor house with gorgeous gardens and its own quay. The Tamar Valley itself is a must, boasting some of the most beautiful landscape in Cornwall with an extensive network of footpaths to explore with routes to suit everyone, where the remains of over 100 copper mines can be found along the river. You're also only a short drive from Dartmoor in Devon or Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, which offer a rugged, contrasting countryside ideal for walks or exploring the pretty villages that are dotted throughout the wild landscape. Whitsand Bay is a must-visit too, with incredible vistas out over the sea - perfect to explore along the South West Coastal Path. There are some lovely seaside villages to explore too such as Kingsand, Cawsand, Looe and further along to Fowey, whilst the Rame Peninsula is a must for nature lovers.
