Set in the heart of eclectic Totnes in South Devon, Arina is a beautiful dog-friendly homestay for up to six lucky people and two dogs. With subtle, luxurious interiors with a hint of the romantic, it's the perfect getaway for couples, families, and friends alike.
Sympathetically renovated by its passionate owners, Arina embraces its heritage with a plethora of original features from the bay windows to the stunning sitting room fireplace. It's not all about the past though - underfloor heating, a freestanding bathtub and superbly equipped kitchen brings Arina bang up to date with all those little luxuries you would expect from a Boutique Retreat.
Just steps from the main high street in Totnes, Arina is perfectly located to explore this wonderful town which boasts a host of fabulous eateries. Pop in your car and you have the whole of South Devon to explore with its beautiful coastline, whilst impressive Dartmoor, perfect for walking and exploring, is just a short drive away.
Special 'Just for Two' rate
A special 'Just for Two' rate applies outside of school holidays, peak weeks, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year. Living
The incredible sitting room, located off the main entrance hall with beautiful original feature fireplace, is a wonderful space to spend time together in. Complete with large Oka sofa, armchairs, large circular tuffete ottoman and pretty window seat nestled in the impressive bay window, there's room for everyone. In addition, there's a Smart TV for catching up on your favourite box sets or for a movie night.
Eating
The stunning kitchen is just a dream to cook in, with eye-catching wooden cabinets and smart white worktops as well as parquet flooring and bay window. Fully equipped with everything you'll need to cook like a professional, there's an electric multifunction oven (which includes a microwave), induction hob, dishwasher, fridge and all the other essentials including a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine with milk frother.
Also within the kitchen lies the dining table, perfect for laid-back meals and celebratory dinner parties alike. A large oval oak dining table from Neptune, it easily seats eight.
There is also a separate boot room which houses an additional fridge freezer and is ideal for your dogs to sleep where the dog beds are provided. In addition, there's a laundry room on the first floor which is home to a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board and hanging rail.
Sleeping and bathing
There are three sumptuous bedrooms to choose from.
The first bedroom, with beautiful bay window and in welcoming, warm colours, is a cosy retreat to escape to at the end of a day's exploring. With a king-sized bed, wardrobe, armchair, large chest of drawers, it offers plenty of space, whilst it also boasts an en suite shower room, complete with large walk-in shower with rainfall head and underfloor heating. We just love the pretty pinks used here.
The second bedroom, also with an impressive bay window, is seriously romantic and comes with a king-sized four poster bed by Neptune. Nested in the corner by the exposed stone feature wall is a gorgeous freestanding bath, whilst there's a mirrored wardrobe and medium-sized chest of drawers to store your belongings as well as an armchair.
The third bedroom is a small, 4' double - perfect for little ones or a single adult. There is also a sumptuous single fold-out bed making this room ideals for multiple children. This room, with gorgeous mustard yellow tones, overlooks the back of the house and is a fabulously peaceful spot.
Bedrooms two and three have use of a separate shower room with stunning green patterned tiling, with large walk-in shower with rainfall head, with underfloor heating to keep toes warm.
All the beds are bedecked in luxurious linens, cloud-soft bedding and gorgeous cushions and throws, whilst both shower rooms have heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.
Outdoor space
Arina has a beautiful sunken seated area, complete with table for alfresco dining and planters - a gorgeous spot that comes into its own as twilight descends, with gorgeous outside lighting. In addition to this, you'll find a wooden bench, just made for slow morning coffees sipped alfresco.
Parking
There is private, off-road parking available beside the main gate to the property for two cars in a secure garage with electric doors for convenience and security. Within the garage, there is an EV charger available for your use.
Babies and children
Babies and children are most welcome. Please bring your own baby equipment with you.
Dogs
Arina welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs. Two small/medium dog beds are provided in the boot room. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
In the Area
Located in the heart of quaint Totnes, this luxury retreat is just a stone's throw from the main high street. Brimming with eclectic shops and delicious independent eateries, Totnes town will leave you spoilt for choice. For a contemporary Devonian dining experience, head to Gather to sample their delicious tasting menus, built with only the finest locally sourced and foraged ingredients. If you'd prefer to rustle up a feast from the comfort of your retreat, head to Ben's Farm Shop for fresh, organic and free-range produce. The iconic Market Square is bustling with traders every Friday and Saturday, selling everything from local honey to exquisite antiques. The Good Food market is also held here on the third Sunday of every month. If you're looking to explore towns set on the beautiful Devon coastline, the dazzling Salcombe and Dartmouth are just over half an hour away by car. For a dose of wilderness, the picturesque Dartmoor National Park is in the other direction.
