Grand and welcoming, Pylewell Park has a rich and fascinating heritage with records dating back to the Domesday book, whilst the house has been in its current form since 1874. Today, it's a luxurious, impressive home with extensive gardens leading down to the sea with views across to the Isle of Wight.
Welcoming up to 20 guests through its doors, this truly unique escape is the perfect setting for celebrations with plenty of space for entertaining, ten stunning and unique bedrooms and 58 acres of parkland to explore all the way down to the Solent.
Inside, expect high ceilings and grand halls, gilded ornamental ceilings, vast open fires, four poster beds and copper baths big enough for two - this is period living on a majestic scale!
Living
With an epic pad such as this, there's plenty of living space as you would expect. The drawing room lies at the heart of the home, looking out over the immense garden. Three huge, sumptuous sofas nestle around the incredible open fire, whilst to one side lies a grand piano should anyone fancy tinkling the ivories! Resplendent in creams and golds, grand portraits of former residents look down benignly, whilst antique pieces are carefully placed throughout the room. The huge bay window comes complete with doors which open out on to the terrace.
Eating
The kitchen comes complete with everything you could possibly need to cater for your party, including an Aga and additional electric range cooker. Simply beautiful in shades of green, huge windows let in plenty of light and there is a breakfast table for smaller, more intimate dining. We recommend a private chef to take the pressure off cooking, so everyone can relax during their stay.
The magnificent dining room is just made for celebrations, with gorgeous wooden floors, huge open fireplace and sash windows with views over the garden. There's also doors that lead out in to the garden, perfect for warmer days when a soft sea breeze is most welcome.
Sleeping and bathing
Pylewell Park has ten stunning bedrooms to choose from, all situated on the first floor and named after Lord Teynham's ten children.
'David' is the master bedroom, set in the heart of the house with glorious views across the gardens to the Solent beyond. Incredibly romantic in dusky pinks, there's a dreamy double four-poster bed, chaise lounge and two astonishing copper baths, taking pride of place in the window.
Impressive 'William' is a chic retreat in tones of teal and gold. With a double bed, views over the garden down to the Solent, we just love the seat by the window whilst there's a golden dresser too. The bathroom is immense with a high ceiling and the biggest bath in the house.
'Hermione' is one of the largest bedrooms in the house complete with a double four-poster bed, built-in wardrobes and view over the garden, balustrade, and sea. This lovely room has an en suite with a bath.
'Emma' is simply stunning! A huge room, it boasts an original, refurbished 16th century double four poster bed, wonderful sea views and a dressing table. It also has a spacious bathroom with bath and shower.
'Lucy' is just lovely with lots of original features. Boasting a double golden wooden bed with matching side tables and dressing table, it has beautiful views across the gardens and its own bathroom with fabric walls and a freestanding copper bath.
'Jonny' is a lovely bedroom in shades of blue has breath-taking views across the garden and down to the water and comes complete with a double bed, dressing table and en suite bathroom with a shower.
'Sophie' is just dreamy with a double four-poster bed for you to drift off to sleep in. Oh-so-romantic, this room has views over the front of the house and has a giant bathroom with a huge bath for relaxing in.
'Peter' dazzles in pinks and greens, guaranteed to raise a smile! We just love the double cabin bed to clamber up into, from which you can gaze out of the window and watch the world go by. Just next door is a large bathroom with walk in shower.
'Ben' is a bedroom perfect for little ones or friends to share as it comes complete with two single beds and it shares the sweet pink bathroom just at the end of the corridor.
'Alice' is resplendent in tones of gold and pops of pink, offering 'zip and link' beds meaning it can be set up as twins or a super king bed for flexible sleeping arrangements. In addition, there's a lovely writing desk in here and an armchair in the window with views down the main drive. This bedroom shares the pink bathroom with 'Ben'.
In addition, there's a downstairs bathroom.
