Bedroom details
3 Bedrooms (Sleeps 4 + cot)
Totally unique in style and setting, this wonderful penthouse is a fabulous apartment for four situated on the top floor of Pylewell Park in the New Forest near Lymington, Hampshire. With records for the estate dating back to the Domesday book, the house has been in its current form since 1874 and is a luxurious, grand home with extensive gardens leading down to the sea with views across to the Isle of Wight.
Separate to the main house, the dog-friendly penthouse has its own entrance with three flights of stairs leading to the top floor. Here you'll find a sumptuous sitting room come dining room, kitchen, bathroom and three impressive bedrooms. Embracing its heritage, you'll find the rooms resplendent in antiques and collectables, with period artwork adorning the walls. We dare you to be unimpressed by the stupendous views, whilst the hidden away roof terrace is a delight. Oh, and did we mention that the parkland and house gardens are yours to explore too? Heaven!
Parties of six
Please note, we are advertising this as a three-bedroom property for four because there is only one bathroom. If you are a party of six and are happy to share one bathroom, please call us on 01872 553 491 and we'll happily book you in.
Living
The stunning sitting room with huge bay windows overlooking the grounds and out to sea is the ultimate space for entertaining. A huge L-shaped sofa is just made for sprawling out on around the vast open fire, whilst the piano forte is the perfect space for cocktails with two bar stools. To the back of the room, close to the window, is the large circular dining table seating six. In addition, there's an impressive bookshelf and we love the Corinthian columns and ancient map of the grounds of Pylewell Park. In addition, there's a TV with DVD player for quiet nights in.
Eating
We love the quirky, bright kitchen with its bright green walls and 50's feel. Fully equipped with everything you'll need to rustle up meals. There's an electric double oven and hob, retro blue fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave plus all the other essentials. Also in the kitchen is a cute breakfast table for four whilst more formal dining can be found in the sitting room. For a unique experience, head to the roof terrace where there is a pair of bistro tables and chairs - perfect for tucked-away meals with a bird's eye view of the grounds.
In addition, laundry can be done on request.
Sleeping
There are three unique bedrooms to choose from.
The red bedroom boasts a king-sized brass bed with built in wardrobe, original feature fireplace and antique artwork. The cosy blue bedroom has a king-sized four poster bed, two window seats with garden views and a built-in wardrobe. The green bedroom has an oh-so-romantic king-sized bed with floral bed head, original fireplace and built in wardrobe.
Bathing
There's a family bathroom complete with a deep bath for long soaks with a shower overhead.
