We just love this picture-perfect cottage for two, where you'll find a warm welcome complete with charming, laid back yet luxurious interiors, offering a cosy escape whatever time of year you visit.
Carrington Lodge is a beautiful red brick home with a ground floor that flows from one room to the next, complete with underfloor heating and a wood burner. Stairs lead up to the oh-so-romantic bedroom with super king-sized bed, and an en suite with roll top bath and separate shower completes this tranquil homestay. Step outside and a pretty garden awaits, complete with hot tub. It's dog friendly too, meaning your best furry friend can enjoy a holiday too.
Set in the New Forest yet in a coastal position, this is a beautiful location for exploring the epic New Forest whilst enjoying all the benefits of being by the sea, from clifftop walks to sunny days on the beach.
Living and eating
Set on the ground floor, the living areas are semi open plan, with each space leading gently into each other, complete with underfloor heating to ensure a cosy space, whatever time of year you stay.
The kitchen area is light and bright, with white cupboards and worktops - a perfect space for creating meals for you and your beloved. Fully equipped with everything you'll need, there's an electric oven with conduction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, and the all-important Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother.
Next to the kitchen is a circular table and chairs just perfect for intimate meals.
From here, the space leads into the sitting room, where you'll discover an oh-so-comfy blue sofa, perfect for curling up on, and a wood burner made for cooler evenings. This is the spot you want to come home to after a long walk, to rest weary legs and sip on your favourite tipple. There's an additional armchair that's perfect for a quiet moment with your favourite book, whilst a Smart TV is on hand for catching up on your favourite boxset or indulging in a film night.
Sleeping
The stunning, super-romantic bedroom lies upstairs and is just a delight to retire to at the end of the day. With a super king-sized bed swathed in luxurious linens, cloud-soft bedding and sumptuous cushions and throws, you'll fall effortlessly into a deep sleep, waking up beautifully refreshed and ready for breakfast in bed. In addition, there's a large wardrobe to stow away belongings and a dressing table too.
Bathing
Pretty as a picture, the en suite has a gorgeous freestanding slipper bath for long soaks, whilst there's a separate shower for wake-me-up ablutions. A heated rail ensures towels are kept cosily warm for you too.
Outdoor space
To the back of the retreat lies an enclosed garden, a lovely, landscaped spot to spend time in for those days when all you want to do is laze at home. Here, you'll find a patioed area complete with a table and chairs for alfresco meals, two loungers, a chiminea and a bubbling hot tub, the only place to spend your evenings - just perfect for unwinding muscles after a long walk or cycle.
Bicycles
Carrington Lodge has two bicycles available should you wish to explore on two wheels. Please bring your own helmets and reflective ware with you.
Parking
There is private parking for one car.
Babies and children
Carrington Lodge welcomes babes in arms. Please bring your own equipment with you.
Dogs
One well-behaved dog is most welcome. A dog bed, bowl and treats are provided. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
Setting
Please note that Carrington Lodge is semi-detached, with neighbouring properties within a cul-de-sac.
In the Area
Set in the pretty village of Milford on Sea near Lymington and within the New Forest, this is a lovely spot to escape to with the best of the countryside and the coast right on your doorstep.
With a traditional village green surrounded by independent shops and great places to eat such as Verveine, an award-winning fish restaurant, and Saltwater, a café, bar and restaurant, Milford on Sea is just lovely. It also boasts stunning views over to the Isle of Wight and The Needles and a gorgeous waterfront that's perfect whether you want to sunbathe, swim, or indulge in water sports. Hurst Castle is also worth a visit, for epic views and a peek into life back in the reign of Henry VIII.
Pop in your car and there's a plethora of beautiful places to visit just a brief drive away. Take a day to explore the lush richness of the New Forest and its lovely villages such as Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, and Beaulieu with its Motor Museum. Lymington is a grand day out for its yachty-totty lifestyle and it's where you can also catch the ferry over to the Isle of Wight, whilst the Saturday market is well worth exploring. For a spot of traditional seaside fun, head to Mudeford Quay for crabbing, whilst a walk along Key Havern Sea Wall is a must.
