Wool Cottage is a delightful home stay for four - ideal for families and couples alike in the heart of the quintessential Cotswolds village of Burford. Dating back to the 16th century, it has been beautifully and sympathetically updated by its current owner, creating a space packed with original features and vintage charm that has been paired effortlessly with modern, luxurious touches.

Romantic, idyllic and beautiful, this is a fabulous getaway within two-hours' drive from London perfectly situated to explore the delights of the Cotswolds.

Special 'Just for Two' rate

A special 'Just for Two' rate applies outside of peak weeks and school holidays. At Wool Cottage the discount is 20%. Call us in the office on 01872 553491 if you have any questions or would like to book. When Wool Cottage is booked for two guests this is on the basis that only the master bedroom is used during your stay.

Living

With its lovingly restored beamed ceiling and large feature fireplace, this room still retains all its original charm from when it was built back in the 16th century. This, combined with luxurious modern touches such as the smart grey velvet sofa and the Chesney wood burner, makes it the perfect spot to retire to at the end of the day with a glass of something special in your hand. We just love the vintage touches in this room, from the hanging antique keys to the recess shelving.

Eating

The stylish shaker kitchen is ever so inviting with its terracotta tiled flooring, hand-painted John Lewis of Hungerford cupboards, quartz worktops and Belfast sink, whilst an induction hob, oven, floor-to-ceiling fridge/freezer and all the other equipment is on hand to create culinary feasts. There's even a Nespresso coffee machine for a perky pick-me-up. The vintage dining table lies in the kitchen and has four gorgeous leather chairs, whilst outside there's a teak table and chairs for a spot of alfresco dining.

Sleeping

Take the winding wooden stairs up and you'll find two charming bedrooms to choose from. The use of the muted yet contemporary Farrow & Ball colour scheme continues, creating calm and relaxing private spaces that truly delight. The generous Master bedroom boasts a seriously sumptuous super king bed, a wonderful window seat and fireplace. The second, smaller bedroom, in glorious shades of dusky pinks and greys, has a zip-and-link bed meaning it can be made into twins or a super king bed. Both bedrooms have super luxurious bedding and linens to ensure a deep, restful nights' sleep.

Bathing

There's a family bathroom complete with bath and overhead shower - perfect for long soaks or quick wake-me-up showers in the morning. In addition, there's a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy and underfloor heating to ensure toes are kept toasty. Luxurious REN products give it the little extra touch. There is also a second loo downstairs.

Outdoor space

Leading out from the kitchen is a lovely, sunny walled courtyard garden where clematis and vines climb the sandstone walls, offering plenty of privacy. Here you'll find a teak table and matching chairs for eating outside - this is a lovely sheltered sunspot!

Parking

There is free on street parking across Burford as well as free car parks nearby.

Babies and children

Babies and children are welcome at Wool Cottage. Please bring your own baby equipment with you.

Dogs

Up to two dogs are very welcome. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Wool Cottage:

A beautiful well designed cottage centrally located in Burford.

Utterly brilliant, we loved every minute.

Cosy Cottage ideal for two people in the lovely village of Burford. Lovely decor , nice big bed with lovely bedding and fluffy towels and robes. Parking space outside available most of the time.

Lovely cottage in a superb location right in Burford.

An amazing location with everything literally on your doorstep. Beautiful, comfortable and immaculate.

Beautiful cottage in a central location, great facilities and plenty of character.

Excellent location and cottage.

We had the most wonderful stay at wool cottage, I couldn’t recommend it enough. We are already planning our trip back!

Beautiful decorated cottage in a bustling village. Great location for visiting all the other villages in the Cotswolds

Great stay! Will definitely return!

What a lovely cottage. Cosy and well appointed. A spacious main bedroom, with the comfiest bed and everything you could wish for in the kitchen. The position is ideally situated for all the local amenities which meant we spent far too much time enjoying the many pubs and restaurants on our doorstep. We will be back.

Wool cottage is absolutely gorgeous, and in a perfect location at the bottom of the high street. The finishing touches made all the difference - as did the welcome guide which we followed, and was incredibly useful. Our springer spaniel loved his time there too and we’re pretty sure did not want to leave….

It was a joy to stay here, a beautiful property in a wonderful location, what more could you ask for!

The location is very conscientious to explore Burford and the wider Cotswolds. The Wildlike park and Garden Center were two of our favourite places to visit.

Well deserved to be listed as a Boutique Retreat. Can’t wait to go again.

Our stay at Wool Cottage was delightful, very well equipped and beautifully furnished.

Loved this cottage, great location and will definitely return.

Very cosy cottage log burner looked great but not req for this stay maybe next time

A beautiful cottage full of charm, character and yet with all modern needs provided for. A fascinating experience to discover all the cubby holes. Perfectly placed in Burford. Would thoroughly recommend it.

If you like easy access to pubs and restaurants you couldn’t ask for a better location. Right at the bottom of the high street, this cottage still manages to be peaceful and quiet but within a few minutes walk of wonderful hospitality. We loved the courtyard with its church in the background but also the cosy living room and fabulously comfy bed. And the parking was really easy. Always got a space right outside. We will be back next year.

We had a brilliant 4 night stay in November 2020, everything is beautiful in the cottage, just like in the photos. Thanks!
