Set on the untamed edges of Exmoor National Park near the darling town of Dulverton resides our romantic cottage for two, promising a quiet country retreat designed for couples and solo travellers dreaming of escaping the world for a little while. Built in the 18th century with classic English cottage features and an elegantly rustic interior style, this pretty retreat is endlessly enchanting in every way, from the inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove, to the quaint cottage garden made for unwinding on sun-kissed days. Nestled in the Somerset village of its namesake close to Exmoor National Park, you'll be perfectly placed for uncovering both the beauty of the moors and the nearby North Devon coastline.
Living
Evoking an effortless country feel, the living room is a calming space adorned with luxurious textiles in muted tones and stylish accessories. Set in the spacious inglenook fireplace resides the handsome wood burning stove, with feature log store set in the alcove adjacent. You'll also find a gorgeous, bespoke coffee table along with a cream two-seat sofa and a co-ordinating armchair. A Smart TV and radio offer the perfect staycation entertainment.
Upstairs set amongst eaves is the cosy reading room, where a writer's desk with a chair is the perfect spot for chronicling your travel reveries, along with an armchair positioned to admire country vistas. There is also plenty of space for the lovers of morning yoga rituals - be sure to pack your mat.
Eating and dining
A contemporary space with quirky beams and rustic touches, the kitchen and dining space offers an inviting setting to create culinary poetry. Within bespoke charcoal grey cabinets you'll find all you should need to prepare meals, including an oven with induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and a tumble dryer. Informal banquets can be taken at the oak dining table with two chairs.
Sleeping and bathing
Adorned in calming neutral shades and wooden antique pieces, the beautiful bedroom is complete with charming, vaulted beams and an elegant, sleigh-style king-sized bed resting centre. A cream armchair perches perfectly beside the quaint cottage window, whilst two distressed bedside tables, a chest of drawers, and a built-in wardrobe offer plenty of storage.
Adjoining is the spacious en suite bathroom, where you'll find two gorgeous twin basins, as well as a stunning taupe-tiled walk-in shower with a rainfall head and separate handheld. There is also a heated towel rail.
Outdoor space
Step outside to discover an enchanting space with botanical borders and serene seating areas, promising a romantic backdrop for the lovers. Whether you're sharing dreams around the firepit or alfresco dining beside the soft glow of lantern light, this blooming garden is a sanctuary in all seasons.
Guests are also able to use the gardens across the road, where you will find a small vegetable patch, orchard, a pond, and a small river.
Dogs are most welcome, however they must be well-behaved as there are free-range chickens roaming. Please note, whilst the garden is enclosed, it is not dog-proof.

Parking
You'll find one parking space located directly opposite 11 Brushford. Additional parking is available by the church. There is also an electric car charging point available for guest use.

Perched on the edges of Exmoor National Park in the village of Brushford, an endless array of countryside strolls and pretty woodland adventures reside close by. Dulverton woods promises ample opportunities for romantic picnics and nature-filled walks with canine companions, whilst a short drive north takes you to the historic Tarr Steps and the verdant surroundings of the River Barle. Venture to North Devon to the effortlessly scenic Victorian towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, where you can stroll The South West Coast Path to uncover the Valley of Rocks, promising breath-taking rock formations, mesmeric coastal vistas and perhaps even wild mountain goats.
For adventures of the dining variety, Woods Bar and Restaurant promises a cosy country pub setting with a hearty menu crafted seasonally, whilst wood-fired restaurant The Lost Kitchen presents a modern European menu, which can be enjoyed in the feasting barn or terrace garden, both with heavenly vistas of the neighbouring hillsides. In the town of Bampton, Catalonian-inspired restaurant Spelt offers a tapas-style menu created with local ingredients, or alternatively, sample delicious handmade pizza at Exe Valley Pizza Co.
