Living
In an open-plan design, the living and dining areas of Heddwyn combine to create a beautiful social hub adjoining the kitchen. A thoroughly inviting space, the living area features a super cosy West Elm leather sofa and a comfy, olive-green armchair positioned next to a soul-warming wood burning stove. Next to this, a family-sized dining table with seating for four creates an attractive centrepiece for magical mealtimes throughout the day. Bathed in soft sage and white hues, and showcasing handsome period features including open beams and an oak mantelpiece, it simply exudes charm.
For additional recreation and relaxation, a games and entertainment area resides in a separate room, dressed in dark, ambient tones and natural, textured decorations. With a mango-wood round games table, Loaf corner sofa, marble nesting tables, a Bose wireless speaker, and a large 50" TV with Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV+, moments of escapism are eagerly anticipated here.
Radiating comfort, Heddwyn has underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, including the hallway, utility room and games room. The utility room is complete with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Eating
The gorgeous kitchen is at the heart of the home, with forest green cabinets topped with snow-white tops, a blush splashback with white geometric patterning, and a stylish black Rangemaster oven and hob with matching hood. With ample room for flexing culinary creativity, this space can be enjoyed by the keen cooks in your party to create delicious meals at home. Of course, you'll find all the equipment and accoutrements you could need, including a Quooker boiling water tap, and a dishwasher. Making moments even dreamier, there's also a Nespresso coffee machine for aromatic blends.
Sleeping
For the most sumptuous slumber after a day of exploring, the first bedroom awaits with a king-size Hypnos bed topped with thick throws and plump cushions, set beneath a gently sloping ceiling. Embodying a calm, peaceful atmosphere, it is decorated in soft rose and sage tones that reflect the natural colour palette beyond the bedroom window. For added convenience, it also features a built-in wardrobe and shelves, a dressing table, and a stool.
The second bedroom stars a Hypnos bed that can be enjoyed as a super-king or a twin depending on your requirements. Full of period charm, it features tall, sloping ceilings and a low alcove window that looks out onto tufted fields and leafy trees. Mirroring the same cottage-garden tones as bedroom one, it is just perfect for long lie-ins and early nights tucked beneath the finest linens. This bedroom has a built-in wardrobe and shelves, as well as a dressing table and stool.
Bathing
Heddwyn has two beautiful bathrooms, both of which have heated towel rails and are supplied with super-soft towels.
Pretty as a picture, bathroom number one evokes pure rest and relaxation. Located upstairs, it's a modern masterpiece with blended dusky tones, adorned with herringbone and geometric detailing to draw the eye. Infused with wood and jet-black details for a sleek finish, it is softened with botanic prints and trailing plants. For utmost comfort, it has a walk-in shower and a freestanding bath for restful soaks.
The second bathroom is also located upstairs, warmed by delicious underfloor heating to keep toes toasty. With deep green, clover-inspired geometric floor tiling and marble-esque wall tiles in soothing tones, it is steeped in tranquillity. Complemented by gold and black detailing, it features a contemporary floating sink and a large rainfall shower.
Outdoor Space
Intertwined with nature, the six-acre grounds comprise of three different garden areas, so you can rotate with the occasion and the sun throughout the day. A shaded paradise with a soundtrack of running water, a sun area rests by the river and includes two chairs, a sofa, and table. For alfresco feasts, an outdoor kitchen sits next to the house and promises unforgettable moments gathered together. With everything you could need, it is served by a Kamado BBQ, wood-fired pizza oven, worktop and storage area. And, ensuring everyone has somewhere comfortable to banquet in style, an adjacent dining area is found with a circle table and chairs for four. Elsewhere, a delightful fire pit area has four cosy lounge chairs settled beside the crackling fire pit - just idyllic for laidback evenings accompanied by a bottle of something special. Recline and relax as the sun slips beyond the horizon, savouring the captivating atmosphere of this private corner of the world.
Babies and children
Children and one baby are very welcome at Heddwyn. A cot, cot mattress, and bedding are provided, as are a highchair and children's tableware and cutlery.
Parking
There is dedicated parking for two cars and there is one electric untethered car charging point. There is also additional parking on the lane.
Dogs
One dog is welcome at Heddwyn. Two dog beds, a dog towel, dog bowls, and treats are supplied, and there is also an outdoor dog washing area for cleaning muddy paws.
In the Area
Heddwyn is found near the town of Llandysul in Ceredigion, in easy distance of both rolling Welsh countryside and the coast. For lovers of the great outdoors, there are few places more magical than this for days of discovery, be it tracing woodland trails or coastal paths through beautiful scenery. For seaside adventures, Mwnt, Penbryn, Poppit Sands and Aberporth are all must-visits and all 20 miles or less from your doorstep. Poppit Sands is particularly tempting when combined with a visit to Crwst bakery - a fantastic café well-known for its sweet treats. Just half an hour away by car, New Quay is also a popular choice, famed for its pods of resident dolphins who can often be seen from the coast path and during guided boat trips from the town's harbour.
Close to home, Cenarth Falls and Newcastle Emlyn Castle by the River Teifi showcase inland gems and a more verdant side to the county woven with history. You can also journey to Castell Henllys Iron Age Village in Meline. Here, a 30-acre woodland and river meadow site reflect life in the area 2,000 years ago. Later, to reward yourself with fine cuisine, a trip to Cardigan's Yr Hen Printworks affords Michelin Bib Gourmand food served in a laidback setting. Tregaron's square is also home to a Michelin-recommended restaurant in the form of Y Talbot. If you don't want to venture far, the Daffodil at Penrhiwllan is just a few miles away, while The Plwmp Tart at Llanborth, The Nags Head, Abercych and The Moody Cow Farm Shop & Welsh Bistro at Bargoed Farm offer a variety of delightful dining opportunities too.
