Nestled amongst the woodland, this country cottage for two is utterly idyllic and is a must for country-lovers and couples seeking total escapism, at one with nature. Surrounded by the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you're deep within some of the most beautiful countryside to be found in Cornwall, and with the River Tamar running close by, it's just perfect. Inside the little stone cottage, you'll find modern, romantic country living whilst outside is a pretty garden where evenings spent stargazing beneath inky skies is a must. Being dog friendly, your four-legged friends will just adore country walks whilst being so close to the Devon/Cornish border you can enjoy the best of both beautiful counties.
Living and eating
In keeping with its country style yet embracing modern, open-plan style living, the main space at Demelza is just perfect. At the heart of the room sits the cosy, eye-catching wood burner - a must for cooler days and a welcome sight after a long walk.
To the right lies the pretty, country-style kitchen filled with everything you need to rustle up a romantic feast or two, maybe using some of the amazing local produce to be found in this fertile area. With an electric oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer and everything else you might possibly need, it's just right for couples.
To the left of the wood burner lies the sitting room with gorgeous egg-blue sofa and a pretty French-inspired occasional chair as well as nature-inspired artwork. In addition, there's a TV for film nights and a circular dining table and chairs for meals a deux.
Sleeping
The oh-so-romantic bedroom can be found upstairs hidden amongst the eaves. With a gorgeously cosy king size bed, this is a blissful escape to retreat to at the end of a busy day exploring. Fall asleep to hooting owls and rustling trees and wake fully refreshed by the country air. So comfortable is this pretty room you'll not want to leave it, so lazy lie-ins are a must as is breakfast in bed.
Please note that due to the characterful nature of Demelza, the ceilings on the first floor can be low in places.
Bathing
Next to the bedroom you'll find the bathroom complete with a bath, overhead shower and heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy.

In the Area
At Demelza, you're perfectly located to explore the best of both worlds, being ideally located on the Devon/Cornwall border. Not far from the market town of Tavistock, the gateway to Dartmoor, and the former mining town of Gunnislake, there's plenty to see and do to keep you busy. Cotehele, owned by the National Trust, is a wonderful Tudor house with gorgeous gardens and its own quay. The Tamar Valley itself is a must, boasting some of the most beautiful landscape in Cornwall with an extensive network of footpaths to explore with routes to suit everyone, where the remains of over 100 copper mines can be found along the river. You're also only a short drive from Dartmoor in Devon or Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, which offer a rugged, contrasting countryside ideal for walks or exploring the pretty villages that are dotted throughout the wild landscape. If you fancy being close to the sea, there's Boscastle in north Cornwall and Polperro and Fowey on the south coast whilst Widemouth and Whitsand Bay are each 45 minutes away.
