With two heavenly homestays, Apple Blossom Coombe comprises of Apple Blossom House sleeping up to six and The Gallery welcoming two guests. Ideal for family retreats and getaways with friends, each cottage is elegantly designed to celebrate characterful features enhanced with contemporary curation. Settle into sumptuousness and savour the array of beautifully presented spaces, framed by exposed beams and warmed by cosy wood burners.

When you are ready to explore nearby, Apple Blossom Coombe is perfectly situated for pastoral pursuits and coastal callings. Bathed in natural tranquillity yet only a short distance from Exeter, urban dwellers can seek a dose of culture too. Whisk yourself away along moorland trails in nearby Dartmoor, browse bistros and boutiques in Exeter, and uncover the north and south coasts of Devon for oceanside exploration. However, you choose to while away each day, dreamlike moments await.

Living

Endless moments of calm await at Apple Blossom Coombe, from peaceful mornings of quietude to cosy evenings spent fireside. The perfect space for gathering together, Apple Blossom House features a spacious lounge. Seamlessly pairing period features with modern comforts, it is framed by rustic beams and adorned in soothing tones. Adding to the ambience, a wood burning stove resides within an original stone fireplace and casts a rosy glow in the cooler months. A surround sound cinematic system and flatscreen Smart TV promise atmospheric movie nights, cushioned by sumptuous Loaf sofas and chairs. Meanwhile, a Loaf desk and chair propose a serene spot for creative expression.

In The Gallery, the beautiful, open-plan living area exudes country cottage charm. An idyllic romantic retreat or quiet haven, it features a comfortable sofa, ottoman and armchair in grey, each topped with cloud-soft cushions and blankets. A wood burning stove radiates warmth in winter and an alcove window with a period lintel affords captivating garden views. For evening entertainment, there is a 4K HD Smart TV.

Please note, that whilst the two cottages are adjacent, there is no internal connection.


Eating and dining

From leisurely brunches gathered over charcuterie spreads to golden hour feasts in the flower-framed garden, Apple Blossom Coombe is simply a dream.

In Apple Blossom House, the country-style kitchen is full of character and beckons for homemade feasts. For the curators of fine cuisine, the accoutred space houses everything you need for crafting culinary delights. Cream cupboards with oak-topped work surfaces and a double Belfast sink provide ample space for preparation, while a Stoves seven-ring gas range with double oven and a cast iron griddle plate assists home-baked creations. For dreamy mornings, a Nespresso coffee machine awaits in the kitchen. Sit back and enjoy, a spacious, traditional farmhouse-style dining table and chairs resides below exposed beams and pendant lighting.

For quiet escapes or romantic meals entre deux, The Gallery is also home to a well-equipped kitchen. Set within the open-plan living area, this kitchen is fully appointed and features a range of equipment and utensils, such as an oven and hob, deep Belfast sink and a Nespresso coffee machine. Settle down around the breakfast bar to savour meals or take a seat around the dedicated dining table for flavourful repasts.


Sleeping and bathing

Apple Blossom Coombe enjoys three beautiful bedrooms in Apple Blossom House and an additional bedroom in The Gallery.

For blissful repose, the stunning master bedroom in Apple Blossom House is a picture of serenity with white-washed hues and garden views. Original wooden floors and open beams nod to the cottage’s heritage, while tasteful artwork and organic inflections adorn the room. Taking pride of place, a super-king bed is enveloped in the finest linens, accompanied by a comfortable armchair. This room benefits from a walk-in wardrobe and a private Fired Earth ensuite bathroom with a shower.

Apple Blossom House’s second bedroom is bathed in tranquil tones and features a French-inspired king-size bed. Encouraging lingering lie-ins are majestic garden vistas, and drawing the eye inside are elegant details throughout. The third bedroom also rests on the first floor and has a zip-and-link bed that can be arranged as twins or a super-king depending on requirements. Our beautiful abode features a family bathroom with a free-standing, rolltop bath and hand-held shower.

A winsome cottage retreat just idyllic for two, The Gallery presents a luxurious bedroom crowned with a vaulted, beamed ceiling. With large windows overlooking the grounds and ceiling skylights through which to stargaze, it promises the sweetest sanctuary. For soothing slumbers, the bedroom’s super-king bed is draped in the highest quality linens and topped with cosy blankets.

For utmost comfort, The Gallery’s bedroom enjoys a private ensuite with a double shower and warmed with underfloor heating. For further luxury, a stunning freestanding bath can be found by following wooden stairs up to the mezzanine level, beckoning for serene bubble-topped soaks.


Outdoor space

The outdoor space at Apple Blossom Coombe is a midsummer’s dream and winter’s delight with fifteen acres of grounds to explore. Make the most of the quixotic setting and follow grassy pathways through landscapes intertwined with fields, wild meadows and woodlands. For halcyon hours, a stream and pond beckon for moments of mindfulness, whilst tastefully cut paths and grounds cushion picnics under golden sun. Enjoy rural rituals of slow morning walks and afternoon daydreams under sun-dappled branches, before immersing in the wood fired hot tub for ultimate alfresco relaxation. When the sun starts to dip, enjoy the outdoor barbecue and picnic bench for banquets in golden hour rays and soirees beneath the cosmos.


Parking

There is plenty of private offroad parking at Apple Blossom Coombe. There is also an untethered, 7.4kW, type 2 electric charging point for guest use.


Babies and children

Children and one babe-in-arms are welcome at Apple Blossom Coombe. There is a travel cot, highchair and stair gate for your use should you need it (please bring your own bedding for the cot).


Dogs

Up to three dogs are most welcome at Apple Blossom Coombe. If you would like to bring more than three dogs with you, please do let us know as this could be arranged. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

For moments of country charm, pay a visit to Castle Drogo, the National Trust’s restored Victorian estate on the edge of Dartmoor, woven with stunning woodland and riverside pathways. Should you seek adventures of the urban variety, the city of Exeter is also nearby and home to an array of attractions, from the famous Exeter Cathedral and the Royal Albert Museum to the Exe Estuary Trail.

For a selection of beaches, the north coast awaits with surf-renowned shores, while the sheltered south beckons with the tropical tranquillity of the English Riviera. Head out with a hamper filled with artisan treats from nearby Thorne's Farm Shop and while away time and tide. For those looking to source their own supper, hire a small boat from Teignmouth – a perfect spot for fishing.
