Welcome to Apple Blossom Coombe. This one-time small holding is a tranquil, sleepy getaway nestled in the heart of the rolling Devonshire countryside, perfect for families looking to spend time together. With gorgeous landscapes ranging from woodland, and grassy meadows to fruit trees and even a stream, this is a wonderful spot to really escape it all – a true rural retreat.
Comprising of Apple Blossom House, which sleeps six, and a cottage adjacent, The Gallery, for two, this is fabulous retreat for multi-generational holidays or a group of friends, or a family with accompanying nanny – and it’s also super dog friendly too, with up to three most welcome.
Inside each property, the interior designer has thoughtfully created peaceful and luxurious havens filled with charming, original features such as exposed beams, wooden floors, and cosy wood burners.
Just three hours from London, Apple Blossom Coombe is perfectly situated to explore the sites of mid Devon such as Dartmoor, Exmoor, the north and south coasts and of course the historic city of Exeter.

The Gallery

Living
Super-snug and relaxed, the pretty living room in the main house has a cosy wood burning stove that will make you want to curl up with a blanket and a mug of hot chocolate, and gaze at the flickering flames all night. Traditional blends effortlessly with deep, uber-comfy Loaf sofas and chairs that are made for relaxing, whilst there's a surround sound cinematic system when you want to listen to your favourite music. In addition, there's a cute Loaf desk and chair for those who just must catch up on some work.
In the adjacent cottage, the open-plan living space has bags of cottagey character, with a large four-seater sofa for curling up on, a large, cosy wood burning stove and a gorgeous window seat overlooking the garden.
Both properties boast a 4K HD Smart TV for film nights or catching up with your favourite boxsets.
Please note, that whilst the two cottages are adjacent, there is no internal connection.
Eating
The country-style kitchen in the main house is fabulously spacious and has everything you'll need to create fantastic feasts. There's a Stoves seven-ring gas range with double oven and a cast iron griddle plate, oak-topped work surfaces, double Belfast sink and cream cupboards contain all the other essential kitchen equipment including the all-important Nespresso coffee machine. There's also a utility room which handily stores the washing machine and tumble dryer. In addition, there's a characterful farm-kitchen style dining table and chairs for mealtimes.
The kitchen in the cottage lies to the back of the open-plan living area and is also fully equipped with everything you need to rustle up feasts (including another Nespresso coffee machine) plus there’s a breakfast bar for meals on the go. There's a lovely round dining table to the side of the kitchen.
Sleeping
In the main house, there are three superb bedrooms to choose from.
The stunning en-suite master bedroom is as pretty as a picture in shades of grey and white, the warm original wooden floor and beams add tons of character whilst you can lie in the super-king-sized bed and gaze out the window to the garden and trees beyond. The second bedroom is just as gorgeous with a French-inspired king-size bed, spacious double wardrobe, and eye-catching finishing touches. The third bedroom is a handy zip-and-link meaning it can either be twin beds (perfect for little ones) or zipped together to make a super king bed.
The oh-so-romantic bedroom in the cottage is a total dream with vaulted, beamed ceiling, large windows overlooking the grounds and skylights making it a beautifully light, bright, and airy room. The sumptuous super-king bed is extremely comfortable, perfect for long lie-ins.
All beds come swathed in gorgeous bedding and luxurious cushions and throws to ensure a blissful nights' sleep.
Bathing
In the main house, the master bedroom has an en-suite Fired Earth shower room whilst there's a separate bathroom with a gorgeous, free-standing, rolltop bath and hand-held shower.
In the cottage, the en-suite is a gorgeous wet room with underfloor heating that boasts a double shower with two huge rainfall shower heads. In addition, there's a stunning freestanding bath for two up the wooden stairs on the mezzanine level for long, languorous soaks - blissful!
All bath and shower rooms have a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy.
Outdoor space
Lucky, lucky you! The immense grounds reaching 15 acres are yours to explore with wild meadows, a stream and pond, grassy paths and woodland walks. The woods are pungent with wild garlic in spring. As are het fruit trees, pink-tinged in clouds of blossom and laden with fruit in autumn. Little ones and dogs will love exploring this natural playground, whilst it's just perfect for a picnic under the shady boughs of the trees in high summer. In addition, there are barbeques and picnic benches for a spot of alfresco dining. Totally idyllic!
Parking
There is plenty of off road, private parking.
Babies and children
There is a travel cot, highchair and stair gate for your use should you need it (please bring your own bedding for the cot).
Dogs
Up to three dogs are most welcome at Apple Blossom Coombe - if you would like to bring more than three dogs with you, please do let us know as this could be arranged. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
Private catering
Apple Blossom Coombe offers fabulous private catering with two local suppliers – please get in touch and we can get this arranged for you - this needs to be booked well in advance to ensure availability.

In the Area
Deep in the heart of Devon, there's plenty to see, do and eat in the area. Close to the cottage you'll find the fabulous Thorne's Farm Shop for all your essential goodies, and it's also a pick-your-own fruit farm. Additionally, there are two great local pubs with the Ring O Bells particularly being renowned as a Gastropub.The Union Road Moto Velo in Crediton is a wonderful spot to enjoy coffee and cake while admiring the treasures within the motorbike workshop, while the historic Okehampton railway station is a lovely scenic stop off when riding the Dartmoor line. You're also not far from the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor which are a must for walkers and cyclists with plenty of paths and trails to explore. In addition, take the scenic Tarka Trail Route to the rugged coast and surf beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe on the North Devon coast. Make sure to visit the lovely South Devon coast too and there are several National Trust properties nearby such as Knightshayes and Killerton, famous for their period houses and gardens alike. Castle Drogo offers fabulous walks on the edge of Dartmoor as well as traditional period house, café and shop.
