Settle in for a getaway unlike any other, savouring Osprey's perfectly curated interiors flushed with natural light and bathed in soothing tones. Promising restful indoor spaces that frame the beautiful countryside scenes outside and private grounds with plentiful space, this heavenly home for up to ten guests lends itself perfectly to year-round retreats with family and friends. From the delightful summerhouse to the openair balcony, and from the gorgeous living spaces to the nearby beaches, timeless memories wait to be made, surrounded by contemporary comforts and elegant style here.

Living

With walls adorned in organic textures and cosy tones, the beautifully styled living spaces of Osprey are a dream. Taking cue from the leafy borders of its private grounds, the gorgeous lounge of this rural treat harmonises with nature, adorned with Nina Cambell wallpaper, botanical prints and swathed in calming shades of green. Ensuring year-round appeal, large patio doors provide a window to the elements in winter, and open in summer to let balmy breezes drift into the room. For a choice of comfortable seating, a large, Colefax and Fowler velvet sofa topped with Designers Guild Fabrics and William Yeoward cushions is joined by a plump three-seater sofa in William Yeoward fabrics, as well as two occasional chairs. For hours of entertainment, a TV with a DVD player, Sky TV, and TNT sport are provided, as well as a cupboard brimming with games.

Eating and dining

Through the hallway decorated with art pieces by Peter Blake, the open-plan kitchen, diner and snug awaits. Marrying woody textures with organic inflections and nautical hues, this inviting space makes for an idyllic heart of the home. At one end, a contemporary kitchen resides ready for social gatherings and culinary preparations. Drawing the eye, a deep blue kitchen island takes centre stage, perfect for joining your nearest and dearest over foodie spreads and popped corks. Exuding timeless appeal, off-white kitchen cabinets and steel accoutrements balance the contemporary and the traditional, complemented by a Smeg oven, Nespresso coffee machine, glass-fronted wine fridge and boiling water tap.

Bridging the space between the kitchen and dining area, the beautiful snug with a richly cosy navy sofa and comfortable armchair calls for relaxed moments. Decorated with coastal-inspired artwork and warmed by a wood burning stove in winter, its invitation is hard to resist. Take a seat in the cushioned cocoon of the sofa and drift into relaxed repose or easy chatter as day turns to dusk. Flowing from the snug, the dining area takes its place beside windows overlooking flourishing garden flora. Centred around a farmhouse-style wood dining table, it provides seating for all the family to gather over delectable meals that run long into the evening.

Sleeping & Bathing

There are five equally beautiful bedrooms to choose from at Osprey.

Located on the first floor, the stunning master suite enjoys a beautiful aspect overlooking the garden and flurry of trees beyond. Beckoning for restful nights, a navy king size bed draped in the finest linens and topped with cushions and throws rests below a tall, sloped ceiling. Bringing the outside in, white shuttered doors open onto a glass-fronted balcony, perfect for savouring slow summer mornings over a cup of aromatic coffee. For utmost comfort, this bedroom, adorned with Colefax and Fowler wallpaper, is complemented by a tasteful, ocean-hued ensuite bathroom with a bath and a shower.

Osprey's second bedroom is a welcoming sanctuary, softly illuminated by waves of natural light. Decorated in tranquil tones, it proposes organic textures and nature-inspired themes, enhanced by wooden floors and furnishings. At the centre, a king size bed nurtures nights of blissful repose, draped in a super-soft duvet and throws for total comfort.

The final bedroom on the first floor is a tranquil oasis that imbues a soothing feel. Residing beneath a characterfully sloping ceiling, it features a king size bed swathed in the softest sheets for dream-worthy nights. Wicker side tables dressed with lamps hug the bed, offering somewhere to rest warming herbal teas and casting cosy illumination for nighttime reads.

These two bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower.

Awaiting on the ground floor, the fourth bedroom is a delightful space with twin beds. Sporting ocean hues reminiscent of the South Devon coastline just a mile from the doorstep, it balances navy and white tones brightened by light from large windows and a door to the garden. Perfect for little ones or friends, this bedroom also benefits from an ensuite bathroom set opposite the room with a bath with a separate shower head.

Osprey's fifth bedroom is a heavenly idyll bedecked in a soft sage palette. Around the room, textured furnishings, rugs and decorative accents gently vie for the eye's attention, while large windows frame a natural tapestry of dappled leaves beyond. For peaceful slumber, a king size bed is cloaked in the highest quality fabrics and finished with the cosiest blankets and pillows.

Also on the ground floor, an additional wet room can be found with a shower for refreshing soaks.

Outdoor space

The outdoor space at Osprey is a picture-perfect delight. Flowing from large patio doors from the lounge, a large, manicured garden rolls towards a fenced boundary, beyond which countryside scenes and regal trees extend towards the horizon and a stream makes its way to the sea. Perfect for early mornings under strawberry sunrises and slow evenings under star-studded skies, the garden features a well-kept lawn and a beautiful, duck egg blue summerhouse with an open-front aspect. Inside the summerhouse, cosy seating and handsome furniture creates a beautiful hideaway in which to escape for a few hours with a book and a glass of something special. Meanwhile in front of the summerhouse on a sun-kissed patio, a Weber charcoal BBQ, family-sized dining table and chairs, benches, four sun-loungers and a heavenly, wood-fired hot tub all beckon for dreamy moments of alfresco living. Radiating calm and allowing nature to thrive, the garden is also a beautiful spot to look out for rare birds of prey soaring overhead and enigmatic deer in the fields beyond.

Bid farewell to summer in style. One of the most spectacular seasons for its food, festivals and natural finery, we can’t resist autumn in Devon.

Combine the luxuries of a good hotel with the suit-yourself dynamic of self-catering.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Osprey:

Amazing house with all the facilities to make a good holiday. Great location.

Beautiful property. Pretty views with a large enclosed garden. Perfect for our dog. We really appreciated the welcome hamper. Lots of coastal walks nearby. Soaking in the hot tub at the end of the day was a perfect way to relax. We also enjoyed sitting by the fire with a glass of wine in hand on a rainy day. Will miss those country views.

The house is well designed, equipped and comfortable. The location is excellent.

Perfect part of Devon. Location and property both stunning. Will I return - most definitely
