We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Asteria:

I had a wonderful stay at Asteria. It’s a beautifully presented property both inside and out. A real home away from home, with a well equipped kitchen and the most comfortable beds! It was such a relaxing place to stay and the perfect location for exploring Dartmoor.

We had a lovely family stay with Dennis the dog in a lovely cosy cottage in a wonderful area to explore

A wonderful break in a stunning setting. Everything was perfect. Such a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Thank you.

What a beautiful place to stay in a wonderful location. Despite the weather, we all had a brilliant time. A glorious long walk in Dartmoor in the rain, ended in a good soak in the hot tub! Loved Cotehole and Berry Pomeroy Castle too. Thank you for making the dogs so welcome, they also hahd a brilliant time. The welcome basket was super generous! And a great tip on walking from here to the Peter Tavy for supper.

It was incredibly relaxing and also very welcoming for dogs. Miranda was fabulous and the hot tub excellent in all the rain!

Thank you so much for this wonderful welcome. We loved all of the little details, the music in every room, the delicious presents. We had some cosy days at Asteria and enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace as often as we could. Our favourite place was the sitting room upstairs, we loved the playcards there and also just looking out of the window! Hope to come back soon.

This is a gorgeous cottage. The warm welcome was a really lovey touch - slights, music and scent! Thank you for a special weekend. We enjoyed a lovely walk along the river and exploring the local area, but most importantly bonding in this special place.

We spent a wonderful weekend at this beautifully appointed cottage. Wish we could have stayed longer! Highly recommend.

We are returning guests as we love this cottage. We enjoyed another fabulous meal at The Cornish Arms in Tavistock. We also walked up to the Mary Tavy Inn for drinks and enjoyed a very warm welcome. A lovely New Years Eve spent in such a lovely, comfortable cottage. Thank you!

What an amazing time in this wonderful house. Miranda went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Thank you so much, the hamper was amazing, as is the cottage.

Lovely hosts, great property, great location

Asteria was absolutely stunning. Miranda was so friendly and helpful and we would totally use boutique retreats again.

Thank you Miranda for an utterly wonderful stay. It made our honeymoon so special.

Everything was absolutely lovely, the most perfect place to relax and unwind. Discovering a new love of hiking, especially in the rain! We feel recovered and relaxed, ready to face the world! The Cornish Arms is highly recommended for Sunday lunch. Thanks for everything Miranda and your team, you work hard to make Asteria a lovely and special place. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay in Asteria! The cottage was very comfortable and we loved going for walks, then coming home to the hot tub. Miranda and family were fab hosts!

We have had a fabulous week at Asteria. We came in search of some peace and quiet to relax and that is exactly what we have found. The cottage is stunning and has everything and more that we could need. Fabulous food at The Dartmoor Inn and wonderful walks especially Lydford Gorge. We will definitely be back.

What a gem! Thank you so much for all of the thoughtful touches and a wonderful welcoming hamper. The weather was not the best kind, however the hot tub soothed our aching limbs after some long hikes. The Dartmoor Inn is highly recommended for a meal, as was the Peter Tavy Inn.

Thank you so much for a lovely and relaxing stay in your beautiful cottage with so many thoughtful touches.

A wonderful base to explore Devon and Cornwall.

The Tavy Inn was superb with a beautiful walk too - much needed after the generous portion sizes!

Asteria was a haven of peace and tranquility in a beautiful setting. The property was finished to a high standard with high quality finishing touches and a wonderful outdoor living space for relaxing. The owners Miranda and Anthony were very welcoming yet discreet. We had an amazing time and hope to return at some point.

Fantastic! What more can we say. We have had the most wonderful family retreat at Asteria. Everything highest quality. Could not have asked for more. Asteria is a 5 star retreat and we have had the most relaxing luxy holiday. Definitely will be back!

A gorgeous retreat, fantastic welcome hamper and very comfortable! We loved the hot tub too!

Beautiful, comfortable & thoughtful, right down to the small details. Sometimes these are the very things that can make your stay that little bit more special. Miranda is warm, friendly, and very attentive. We had a lovely break and would most certainly return.

We have had the most amazing time making memories in Devon, "our happy place". This house is just great, everything we could have dreamed of. Thank you so much for looking after us and allowing us to stay in this special place. It was beautiful and the hosts were so lovely and welcoming.

Asteria means "from the stars" and the cottage here has been a slice of heaven. You can roam the moors by day and soak in the hot tub at night whilst watching the stars. Miranda and Anthony are the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome straight away. We have dined at the Peter Tavy Inn and walked off the pie on the way home! If only we could dance here among the stars all the time xxx

A gorgeous oasis of country paradise... Peaceful, beautiful and restful. Asteria had everything one could need, and the outside space and hot tub were delightful. Thank you so much to Miranda, whose kindness and support made our week's stay so special.

We had a wonderful stay here. The cottage is as described, it was spacious, well equipped beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The terrace garden and hot tub are particularly good, there was space to enjoy each part of the day - morning coffee, a lazy afternoon reading or evening meal around the large table. There is lots of local information in the cottage and it's well placed to explore Dartmoor. This has been a brilliant week and the cottage was beautiful - overall one of the best self catering plaes we have stayed in the UK.

A restful and rejuvenating week at Asteria. We arrived to a beautiful and well stocked home from home. Lots of different spaces to suit every weather and mood. From the snug lit with the fire on cooler evenings to excellent outdoor areas and hot tub for when it was warmer.

Both inside and out Asteria had everything we could wish for in a holiday cottage - absolutely loved our stay. Everything that we could have needed or wanted was there. Even more perfect than the photos! Thank you so much for our wonderful stay.

The cottage was lovely, cosy, and very well equipped. It was the right balance between feeling we were in our own world and close enough to civilisation. We loved it all! Sad to go now!

A completely perfect stay at Asteria! From the start Miranda was so welcoming especially after a nightmare journey here causing us to miss our online order but Miranda so kindly accepted it and unpacked it for us - going above and beyond! The cottage was so homely with such cosy beds. The hot tub and wood burner were a dream after the little ones bedtime. The little one adored the surprise of the swings and the doggo loved running and exploring down by the stream. We had such a wonderful time and really looking forward to coming back hopefully. Thank you so much!

From the moment we arrived and stepped out of our car, we were made to feel utterly welcome by the owner. The personal tour of the retreat was an added bonus, and the hamper that was left was perhaps one of the best that we have come across. The property was beautifully presented and ever so comfortable. The hot tub was definitely the icing on the cake!! We had the best time here and would love to visit again.

Asteria is such a beautiful cottage. Communication from Miranda on the day of arrival was fantastic. Food box of goodies and all the basics was most welcome - perfect hosts. Thank you for helping us have the most wonderful break away from home that was so desperately needed. Thank you. We will return!

What a gorgeous cottage and such a welcoming, cosy, arrival after a long drive! We had a wonderful week stay and exploration of Dartmoor. Thank you!

Fabulous stay at Asteria! Great access to everything Dartmoor has to offer. A beautiful property in stunning surroundings. Would recommend Wistmans Wood for a beautiful, scenic walk. Thank you very much!

Absolutely perfect!! Asteria was just wonderful and Miranda was the perfect host! The attention to detail, second to none! Highly recommend the pie at Peter Tavy! Thank you so much again! We will return x

After a "difficult" year - globally and personally - staying here has been delightful, restorative, relaxing, charming and thoroughly enjoyable . We have a rule/ mantra "why would you ever stay/go/holiday anywhere that wasn't as good as, better, different, more relaxing than one's own home..." So no disappointment here! From the outset Miranda was thoughtful, generous, anticipative, discreet but available. Our rescue dog Ronald barely relaxes anywhere but cosied up next to our roaring fires and declined too many walks . Beds so enveloping, peace and quiet and every day a new corner of the wondrous Dartmoor. In what can only be described as 'l'dreich" weather, Asteria provided us with a welcome in the hillside! Not only was every creature comforts provided, it was stylish and thoughtful. We have loved exploring new territory and returning to a welcoming home. Thank you.

Stunning! Our stay at Asteria has been perfect. A beautifully styled cottage, with attention to detail which makes it even more special! Lots of walking and pub lunches. Would highly recommend the Dartmoor Inn and The Who'd Have Thought It Inn, both serving delicious food and dog friendly too! Thank you.

We have had a really brilliant stay at Asteria, such a lovely cottage with stylish and classy touches everywhere whilst at the same time retaining simple homely charm! We love it! We've had great walks on the moor, great food at the Endsleigh and Cornish Arms and the beer's good too. Thanks for the hamper and the fizz!

Amazing location! Amazing place! Amazing host! Amazing food! Thank you for a lovely stay Miranda and all your helpful advice. Looking forward to our next visit. Cornish Arms is a must!

Thank you for such a beautiful home for our holiday. Every room is special and all with thoughtful touches. Gorgeous kitchen with everything needed to cook and lovely cosy snug with a fire for the evenings. Beds amazingly comfy and made for a restful stay in very beautiful bedrooms. Also very well looked after by Miranda - (warm and lovely owner). Thank you x

Miranda and Antony were fantastic hosts - we had everything we needed, and they were super helpful during our stay. The space was fantastic - I used the upstairs 'sunroom' for a couple of work calls, and the outdoor area and BBQ were perfect for the sunny weather we had. We had a fantastic stay at Asteria - the weather was great and really enjoyed the BBQ and outdoor space!

Thank you for such a wonderful stay in Asteria! Beautiful house which was so well stocked with everything we could possibly need, and the amazing hamper! Great local recommendations from the owner including The Cornish Arms - fantastic food! Thank you!

We had a fabulous stay. Everything was perfect. Great location.
