With two bedrooms, Asteria is perfect for families whilst it's also fantastic for couples seeking a more spacious home away from home, whilst a large kitchen, two living spaces and a terrace garden means there's room for everyone, whether you're on a summer holiday or a winter getaway.
Inside you'll find soft colours and delightful hues throughout; thoughtfully designed and styled to reflect the gentle, natural colours of the surrounding countryside in this charming cottage. Cosy living spaces and a heartwarming wood burner promise a delightful space to unwind after days spent exploring Dartmoor.
Outside there is a large private terrace with the cosiest set up for indulging in al fresco dining, as well as a hot tub perfectly positioned to enjoy your favourite tipple under dusky skies, or late-night dips after crisp days on the moors, gazing at starlit skies from the warmth of the bubbling tub.
Asteria's central location means there's plenty to see and do, from the wilds of Dartmoor, the pretty rolling Devon countryside and its towns and villages, to both the south and north coasts of Cornwall and Devon - just perfect!
Living
Downstairs, the beautifully cosy snug is blissfully peaceful and the perfect place to relax, with nothing but the crackle of the wood burner to accompany you. With wood panelled walls, comfy three-seater sofa and two armchairs, there's plenty of room for four people. In addition, there's an Smart TV and DVD player for catching up with your favourite box set or losing yourself in a film or two plus a Roberts digital radio.
Upstairs there's a delightfully open sitting area with a window seat to gaze out of, a cosy two-seater sofa and an armchair. Here the sun streams through most of the day, making it perfect for a doze, to catch up with a good book or to get together over afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks.
Eating
The magnificent kitchen is simply divine and just a dream to cook in. Full of everything you could possibly need to rustle up meals and snacks such as the Miele induction hob, Siemens oven, Miele dishwasher, American fridge freezer with ice maker plus all the other essentials including a Nespresso coffee maker and milk frother, even the pickiest of cooks will be satisfied. There is also a Siemens washer dryer.
The large oak dining island and island stools, from Neptune, is the perfect setting for mealtimes whilst during warmer weather there's an outside dining table for six.
Sleeping
There are two stunning bedrooms to choose from, both in gorgeously soft neutral tones.
The master bedroom with stunning French bateau king - sized bed from 'And So to Bed' is resplendent with crisp white linens, sumptuous bedding and velvet throw and cushions. With two sash windows, gorgeous wood-panelled walls and a huge mirror, this is a light yet cosy room, the dreamiest escape at the end of the day. In addition, there's a dressing table with mirror, large built-in wardrobe, Smart TV with DVD player and a Roberts istream internet radio.
The second bedroom is prettily romantic, drawing on its countryside setting. A zip-and-link bed offers flexible sleeping and can be made into either twin beds or a super king, so perfect for a family with children, or friends travelling together. The lovely dressing table and a built-in wardrobe offer plenty of storage space too whilst this room also has a TV with DVD player and a Roberts Bluetooth radio.
Bathing
The family bathroom has a wonderful bath for long soaks and an overhead shower to wake you up in the morning. In addition, heated rails ensure towels are kept warm and fluffy.
Outside space
Outside you'll find a large private terrace with an enclosed garden area complete with a beautiful pergola. You'll find two Neptune sofas, four loungers, one armchair, and a dining table with six chairs. In addition, there is Weber barbeque on the terrace - just perfect for meals alfresco. There is a smaller separate area where the bubbling hot tub resides, along with two reclining chairs and a coffee table. Savour sumptuous soaks under the inky night sky, watching stars twinkle above you - a delightful space to reside whatever the season.
Parking
There is private, off road parking for guests just a short walk from the terrace.
Babies and children
Babies and children are most welcome at Asteria. A highchair and a booster seat can be provided on request. A stair gate is already in place.
Dogs
Asteria accepts up to two fully trained dogs. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
WiFi
Asteria has strong WiFi so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world, you can.
In the Area
Set on the edge of Dartmoor close the market town of Tavistock, there's plenty to see and do in the area. Nature-lovers and walkers will just love the wild expanse of the moors, just waiting to be explored. With tors, ancient woodland, stunning gorges and waterfalls, there's plenty to discover, whilst the cute-as-a-button villages such as Widecombe-in-the-Moor are just a dream with inns and tea rooms to whet your appetite. Make sure to visit iconic Brentor, an iconic hill with a church on top, for amazing 360-degree views that's just a short drive away. Head to the Tamar Valley for gentler scenery, whilst Rame Head and Whitsand Bay are a must for a wonderful day out by the sea. Head towards the north coast and iconic Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Watergate Bay and the Camel Valley await, whilst the Hartland Heritage Coast is a hidden gem. For eating out, Tavistock has a wide range of fabulous eateries like The Cornish Arms, whilst there are plenty of excellent dog friendly pubs all within a short distance.
