Boutique Cottages in Hayle

Hayle lies in the west of Cornwall on the north coast, next to St Ives and on an estuary that runs through to the golden beaches of Hayle Towans and Gwithian. This wonderful location is just perfect for sea-lovers with easy access to the vast coastline, whilst birders will adore the RSPB nature reserve, the most south westerly estuary in the UK and home to a wide variety of wetland birds.

Hayle itself dates back over 2,000 years as its time as a tin trading port and before that on the route to St Michael’s Mount during the Iron Age. During the 18th and 19th century it was a major part of the industrial revolution due to its mining industry, drawing the interest of Richard Trevithick due to its innovative reputation. As such, the area has been given UNESCO World Heritage Site status.

Today, the town is bustling with eateries and shops but it’s the beautiful waters that draw folk near; with over three miles of pristine coastline to explore it’s a much-loved destination for surfers, swimmers, water sport lovers and more sedate sunbathers. Backed by sand dunes, it’s a wonderful spot with the iconic Godrevy Lighthouse easily spotted in the bay.
