Padstow is known to be the foodie capital of Cornwall, and not without reason! As well as being home to Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth there are lots of fab up-and-coming chefs in the area and more than a handful of amazing restaurants to satisfy even the pickiest of gourmands.

From tucking into fish and chips wrapped in paper and tea and cake at Cherry Trees Coffee House, to glamming it up at Outlaw’s at the St Enodoc Hotel (just across the water at neighbouring Rock) or a good old-fashioned pasty, there’s something for everyone.

Or if you fancy cooking for yourself, what could be better than buying fresh seafood straight from the harbour’s edge? Pick up some freshly baked breads from Padstow’s Chough Bakery, a handful of dribble-worthy artisan treats from Buttermilk Confectionary or even try your hand at cooking like a pro with Stein’s Seafood School.

Whether it’s a pint of something locally brewed, a sparkling Cornish brut or an excellent cuppa you’re after, Padstow doesn’t disappoint. With tucked-away pubs, lovely little tearooms, its own microbrewery and even a wine merchants, you’re guaranteed to be able to whet your whistle with something delicious.

BinTwo is an excellent independent wine merchant with cosy rooms and a wine terrace, the Padstow Brewing Company is an award-winning brewery where you can have a tour and even brew your own beer, and if you’re up for exploring a little further afield a must-see is the Camel Valley Vineyards. Take a tour, taste the wines and maybe take home a few bottles to recreate the taste of Cornwall back home.

With the stunning north coast on your doorstep, what could be better than donning your boots and getting out and exploring?  From the picturesque Camel Trail to the breathtaking Padstow and Stepper Point Walk, the views are to die for. Or if you’re more of a beach lover, there’s literally one for every day of the week all within an easy drive, each of them picture-perfect.

You might like to catch the ferry over to Rock, a lovely little town just a short trip across the estuary, or explore the pretty Prideaux Place, an impressive Elizabethan manor house, or even adopt a lobster at the National Lobster Hatchery! Whatever floats your boat, Padstow and the surrounding area will not disappoint.

Speaking of boats, there a number of local boat operators ready and waiting around Padstow’s harbour who will treat you to a truly memorable few hours at sea. Hop aboard, admire the incredible views of the coast and the endlessly blue horizon and, if you are lucky, spy privileged glimpses of whales and dolphins breaking the surface of the water.
